Kazzaraa: Naval Engagement

This is my second-ever map. It is a BETA, not the full version. It makes use of the fact that hoverthings float on water.

BETA Bugs:
Crashes randomly, I have no idea why.

Also, a few sounds might be missing. Hey, it is a beta, and a second-time one at that.

And, though technically it's not a "bug", it does have the default sky. I'll change that in the full version. I'm just posting this to stop everyone from pointing it out to me.

Post your thoughts, that's how I learn.

Note - The barges are used to transport boarding parties, but if you want to use them you better be quick and in the right spot.

Wow, looks nice. Finally a water map for different. I'll download!

EDIT:
Sorry dude, but this map wasn't that great. The problem is that all the AI fall off into the water and die. Maybe you could put bridges and walk ways the in your next version?

Or get rid of death regions in water and make them have modified blasters that work underwater

Only vehicles have those, don't think it's possible to do that.

Like I said, it's a BETA, not a full version. Of course the ai fall off and die; I'm working on that. But I'm not going to remove death regions. The whole point of the map is that you fight it out while hovering over the water, as if you're in a boat of some sort. Hence, Naval Engagement. I suppose I'll just tell the ai to grab a vehicle or wait for one. Some do. Some suicide by drowning. I'm on it.

Walkways + Bridges = Morph into Kamino


Also, I'm definetly adding more units. Anyone noticed the 346th Legion's hero, the Air Support Unit? I'll add him as a normal unit. Anyone have a few more ideas?

Actuallly, Ive done it quite well, the reason I didn't use it was because it wouldn't influence gameplay, and the moving was problematic. Make a speeder underwater, change the .msh to something fitting (I used YJJ's ship model) and change the hover settings.

But really, sky, thanks. I can't believe I didn't think of that.


And the whole point of this map is to have the vehicles above the water. That underwater speeder would work well for another idea of mine, though....

Yes, I've got some plans for those underwater speeders now, thanks! Although I would need help with the msh work and the hover settings. Meh, I'll ask when the time comes.

Like one vehicle is the Rebel Combat Speeder. One of my favorites.

Nuu, a good underwater vehicle msh is YJJs ship msh, liek Grev said. And then there's also the SPHA-T would look good underwater if you scaled it down and skinned it blue.

Oh, that? I've got that downloaded, but I couldn't get it in-game because I didn't know which odf to use for it. Like I said, I have no clue how to change the MSH of a vehicle.

You could use actual boat models. I've always thought it would be cool to have warships (i.e destroyers, battleships with decks that you could walk around on and turrets. You could maybe connect them with teleports. Possibly make aircraft carriers with helis on them (I'm sure I've seen a model somewhere.) But this isn't a request thread so I'll shut up now. :P
EDIT: Then again, you probably want all star wars sides so...

Oh, yes, that'd be nice if

1. This map weren't Star-Wars based.

2. Too much water didn't crash the game.

For the moment, I've found a way around the water problem. And I might make a non-Star-Wars based map in the future, it's a good idea.

Do you know of any existing assets, player-made or otherwise, like theses boats?
