Thanks for all the kind replies, everyone! I'll try to answer a few questions before I move on to the first update.

@wishihadaname: The overall balance of the sides will be similar to the stock game - so no cases of one-shot-one-kill besides the obvious, such as headshots from a sniper rifle or a rocket to the face. I have no plans for ground-air/space maps because they are just messy and don't work well (there could be something in the vein of Bespin: Platforms though, which I guess counts as ground-air).

@Nova Hawk: Perhaps. I don't have any plans for maps drawn from the first Rogue Squadron game in particular, but that game was one of my favorites when I was younger. I'd like to include at least one map based on a mission from the series, but I just don't know what that would be yet. I'd be more likely to create a map based on something from Rogue Leader, I think. I'd love to find an excuse to include the V-wing airspeeder, though. It's a cool vehicle, and the model featured in the Conversion Pack hasn't really gotten any exposure outside of the Concord Dawn map.

@FragMe!: I haven't tested out the updated animations yet, but I have tested the chunks with collision, and they work just fine.

Map Update #1: Saleucami

Saleucami appeared only briefly in Episode III, but I found its visual appearance to be very interesting. For this map, I've tried to loosely recreate some of the features seen in the few reference images available, then expand on those areas to create a viable map. The battle takes place around two shallow oases, roughly creating a figure-eight layout on a medium-sized map. I owe big thanks to Lord Bandu for his small set of Saleucami props, although I will probably change the texture used on the bulbs. I've really enjoyed putting this map together. Since the planet's appearance in the movie is so brief, I had a reasonably large amount of creative freedom in the design. More importantly, this map allowed me to revisit my favorite design concepts from my old Aldura maps: the eeriness of a former battlefield at twilight.

I agree the map itself has a nice eerie feeling. Not like a dagobah sort of eerie feeling but like a respect for fallen comrades eerie. At any rate, it looks eerie.

Absolutely spectacular, Eggman. I can just imagine BARC speeders zooming over that water.

And I agree; I would love to see a Rogue Squadron series-based map included in this mod, whatever it might end up being. :)

Will the clones use the armour system from Aldura? (rank armour colours with the two stripes on the chestplate indicating class?)

You will be making a water removing patch for such maps, right?

Now that I think about it, the word I'm looking for is "somber".

Now that I ponder it while listening to some sad-ish music I would have to agree.

I think we all know that the Caynon it could be both day and night.

Reminds me of Rends Jutland Wastes map for BF1. I liked that. Back when mod maps could fill my head with wonder and what-not. Now they are just "cool" and "fun" to me. Like the ones in these screens.

THAT IS AWESOME LOOKING!!!

Just two things, do change the bulb textures, they are supposed to be green-ish brown-ish.
2nd, I made a destroyed AAT a while back, would you like it? I noticed most of the destroyed debris was republic and not much CIS.

There's actually a pretty even mix between Republic debris and CIS debris. I guess the angles of the shots just don't show much of the CIS stuff. If you want to send me the files for your destroyed AAT, that would be great. I wouldn't say I have any particular need for it, but I could try it out and see if I like it. If nothing else, it would add a little more variety to the junk scattered around the map. :)

Will you add your Malastare and Baroonda maps to it? That would be superb  .

The ModDB profile for Battlefront Chronicles is now up and running! You can check it out here.

Now for a bit of Q&A, then on to the next map update.

@Lagomorphia: I haven't entirely made up my mind yet on how I want to designate the Phase I clones. As of now, I'm using a similar system to what I used in the sides for the Beachhead beta - different classes just have the markings of different ranks (i.e., rocketeer has the blue lieutenant markings, sniper has the red captain markings - much like the stock Phase I clones). Certain classes also have extra gear attached to them, such as backups for the rocketeer and engineer units.

@Lephenix: Unfortunately, those maps were wiped out in the same computer crash the claimed the Aldura series. I actually did make a new Baroonda map last summer, but I gave it to Sky to use in his Last Days mod. I'd definitely be up to making a third Baroonda map since I love the location, but I'll probably avoid doing so. I don't want the content of this mod to overlap too much with that of other ongoing projects.

Map Update #2: Beggar's Canyon

For being such a desolate world, Tatooine has a lot of interesting and iconic locations. I knew from the start that I wanted to include a map based on Tatooine, and after some deliberation I decided on Beggar's Canyon for the setting. The map came together very quickly, although the layout went through several major revisions. It started out as a full circle with a few extra paths branching off. I realized the map was much too big, so I cut it in half and tried a half circle. Still, the map was too big, and it was a pain to arrange the command posts. I cut the map in half yet again and wound up with the final layout - a loose L-shape. This makes for a compact, medium-sized map, great for infantry and small tanks. The images below include overviews of the layout, along with a few action shots.

Thanks for reading! Please share your thoughts, and also tell me which map you want to see in the next update! Your options are Geonosis, Felucia, Boz Pity, or the new space map I've been working on. :)
