Picking up the Flag

Man, I hate to open up a completely different topic, but I find myself at a loss for a third problem.

My problem is that I have space 1-Flag map with flyers made from new meshes, and those flyers pass through the flag as though it weren't there.

Maybe I'm missing something completely obvious, but is there some special attribute of the game's prefabbed vehicles (or units, presumably)that allows them to pick up a flag in CTF? There doesn't appear to be anything in the com_item_spaceflag that specifies what vehicles/units can pick it up and which can't. Likewise, there doesn't appear to be anything in the .odfs of the vehicles which calls for them to have some ability to pick up the flag. Nor is there anything in the .lua (cmn or ctf) that references certain classes being able to pick up a flag.
