As for
Pandemic developers... But that did not prevent the creation of tools allowing the extraction of the textures they made and the use of these image files without authors' authorization.
The situation is different for Pandemic, Pandemic got money out of each and every one of us, when we purchased the game (barring those who aquired the game through illegal means,), that, to a certain degree, gives us rights to it's contents. Furthermore, Pandemic made a public release of the assets in non-compiled format, that shows to me that they don't mind the end-user having the textures.
Rends however made no public release of the texture, and we didn't pay Rends for anything. Now we know he got the texture from a free texture source, which changes the situation, however, before we knew this, removing the texture from his map would have been a violation of his intellectual property rights.
And whether the tools to take it are there or not has absolutely no bearing on the situation... which makes me wonder why you would use it as a argument.
I have stated my opinion, I am not going to continue to try and change yours. I regard this discussion as closed.
