Serious Error, No Clue What it Means

Okay, my Geonosis Arena map is getting killed by the Geonosians. They worked completely fine before, but once I did a manual clean on my map so I could munge and stuff, the Geonosians do not work at all. There's not a single thing wrong with anything, yet they just crash the map. I've tried both the Geonosians from my map's sides folder, and from the assets, but niether works. It says it's missing an animation, but it doesn't even exist. I didn't delete anything like it while cleaning the folders, and I've searched everywhere to try and find it. Personally, I see absolutely no solution. There's like, no reason why the Geonosians aren't working, but they just aren't.

Here's what it says in the BFII Log:
Message Severity: 3
.\Source\Weapon.cpp(96)
Weapon failed to find animmap geo_rifle

Message Severity: 3
.\Source\Weapon.cpp(96)
Weapon failed to find animmap geo_rifle

Message Severity: 3
.\Source\DisplaySoldier.cpp(349)
DisplaySoldier 'geo_inf_geonosian' failed to find animmap geo_rifle

Message Severity: 3
.\Source\DisplaySoldier.cpp(240)
DisplaySoldier 'geo_inf_geonosian' failed to find animmap geo_rifle

Message Severity: 3
.\Source\DisplaySoldier.cpp(349)
DisplaySoldier 'geo_inf_geonosian' failed to find animmap geo_rifle

Message Severity: 3
.\Source\DisplaySoldier.cpp(240)
DisplaySoldier 'geo_inf_geonosian' failed to find animmap geo_rifle

Message Severity: 3
.\Source\DisplaySoldier.cpp(349)
DisplaySoldier 'geo_inf_geonosian' failed to find animmap geo_rifle

Message Severity: 3
.\Source\DisplaySoldier.cpp(240)
DisplaySoldier 'geo_inf_geonosian' failed to find animmap geo_rifle

And then it basically goes on for pretty much a hundred lines or so repeating that over and over. I've looked for the geo_rifle animations, but couldn't find it. Tediously searched through the ODF, MSH, and animation files for the Geonosian files, but didn't find so much as a reference to the "geo_rifle". I looked in the weapon's ODF, MSH, and animations too. No such luck. Not a single thing wrong. And yet it continues to crash everytime a Geonosian spawns. I've pretty much given up looking. There's no solution as far as I know. I only hope someone knows what's wrong, because I certainly don't.

I might also mention that the Geonosian shows up completely fine in the spawn menu. You can select him and everything. But the moment you spawn as him the game crashes.

Doesn't the Munged folder located in the Geo side's folder contain all the animations you need?

There shouldn't be any problems, considering I'm loading him from the assets.

This has really got me baffled. There's really nothing wrong with anything. Everything's just how it should be. It worked before, there's no reason why it shouldn't work now.

Sounds to me like there is no geo_rifle. What weapon is trying to use this?

It's just the sonic gun. I'm using the stock Geonosian from the game. There's no modifications at all made to him.

Tean says it's a munging error, so he's going to see what's going wrong, and hopefully fix the problem. Though, it will delay the final release of Geonosis Arena for a few days...

I also tried to get the geo_inf_geonosian in my map but it never showed up, the geo_inf_agro_geonosian works, its the exact same thing, but you'l have to change its weapon because it has the sonic blaster but it shoots the bulldogs bullet things

That's Gizor Delso from the campaign. Didn't think of trying to use him. I suppose it's worth a shot.

But now I've got an even bigger problem on my hands. Jango Fett is doing the same exact thing. Everytime you spawn as him the game crashes. He shows up fine in the spawn screen, I have all the files necessary for him to work right, etc. It just won't work. Once again, it's coming up with an error about a missing animation, something like "fett_pistol". I can maybe be able to release the map without Geonosians, but Jango is a must-have. He's the perfect hero for the map. Hopefully Tean can find what's wrong and fix it for me, because I want to finish this map and be done with it, so I can move over to bigger and better ones.

Yikes! Now Jango isn't working!!

Seems to me it might be something else wrong with the map. Try loading Jango and the Geonosians from the Shipped sides and see if it still crashes.

That's what I've been doing the whole time... -_-

Turns out this error happens on basically any map I make. I tried making a completely new map and using the stock Geonosian and Jango from the shipped sides, and it still crashes. There's something seriously wrong with my munge, appearently, because now it's just screwing everything up. It doesn't even munge sides correctly anymore... It can't be the shipped sides, since I haven't even touched them. It's strange though, since they were working fine on any map I made before, then I did a simple manual clean on Geonosis Arena, and now it doesn't work on any map.

He is Vyse lol. It's a munge error, I'm telling ya. Tomorrow I'll look into it. I've had this problem before. This is why the whole process of munging is troublesome. Why coudln't they jsut do it like every other game and just use container files?

What the heck! 0_o you were trying to load it through the shipped side! Never heard it not pulling shipped animations..

What did you mean containers files?

I think he means like .pk3 files from Jedi Academy, where all of the game assets are stored in what is basically a zip archive, and can be removed, edited, and reinserted at will.

Yep. That's what I mean. From exporting from XSI to in-game the file format changes like four times. Most other games you just make the model and export it -- and there you go. You can even run the game in folders instead of the 'zip style' archives.

Sounds like uninstalling then reinstalling the mod tools would be faster than trying to track down the problem. If you do do that, make sure to backup yor maps first.

Couldn't it be the indivisual mod id folder having the error, istead of the whole tools being bad.

Yep... it was a munge error. I checked to make sure everything was clean (a few things weren't), ran a munge and all was wonderful.

Catch me on XFire and we'll talk.

Great. Glad to hear it.
