This is brilliant. I haven't played it yet but from the screens, this looks like a really clever idea. I do agree with the others however. The grass color could be toned down a bit. I would suggest making it a little more dull and faded. I also think that the buildings could be a bit more colorful. Being in a place like this, they don't have to be so sandy. I would go for a bit darker brown or a little gray added to it. Do not get carried away though, it still needs to look like tatooine. I would also suggest adding a reason for this paradise on such a rough planet. You could add a pond or river, and maybe a few trees if you have not already. I think that there should be less and less plants as you extend from the water. I think that the farther away from the center of the city you get, the sandier it will be. I think this will make this map look like a wonderful oasis on the hot planet of tatooine. I really love the originality of this map. Use my thoughts if you want. This is just my opinion. Awesome map!

it's usually pretty hard to make a tatooine urban map, but you did pretty well and especially for your first map. it's a good idea that you changed the ground texture color too. as i type this i can't remember exactly what the map was like but it is good to have some sort of terrain variation in a map. you've got a real good start going for the map and i think now you should fill it up with some eye candy (droids, maybe some banthas or dewbacks, civilians) just some stuff to make the map look prettier.

i think it was a brilliant first map. i can easily tell you put a lot of hard work into this map and it shows. the planning was brilliant, and the ai never once seemed to get stuck for me. i also really liked the placement of objects, especially the walls. no-one else has ever used walls like that from what i can remember and it makes a really fun map

. brilliant work

Thanks everyone! I'll be uploading the 1.0 version to Swbffiles withing 8 hours. Improvements are/will be:
-AI will search for cover in the doorways.
-Object placement has been greatly perfected. Almost everything fits seemlessly.
-More hint nodes.
-Impossible to jump over the wall with a regular trooper.
-Changed lighting, to fit with Tatooine better.
-There has been a slight improvement to the skydome.
-Opening camera shots are now actually showing the command posts
-Loading screen
-I'm probably going to ad a little extra surprise, which you'll see when you've downloaded this.
-Barrier placement has been mostly redone
-Custom award messages.
Thanks again for all the feedback people!

wow. that was a pretty quick update.....you must have been pretty focussed. also i suggest, just as a small touch, adding shadows to your map. the link for it is in the FAQ in case you need it.........just a suggestion

Thanks for the suggestion, but I've already tried it out. The result weren't good however. Because of the fact that I've used lots of objects, the shadows become extremely buggy. (dissappearing now and then.). And since this map already has a dusk setting, I made the decision that the shadows were not worth it.
It's still nice you're trying to think along

@mswf:
If you want a modified version in DS, you'll need to upload a zipped version of your map's "world1" folder (assuming your just using tatooine objects).
Anyway like I said before amazing map gameplay wise.

I've finished all the map work!
The only stuff that is left is now:
-Make a loading screen
-Finish up the custom award messages
-Get working on the extra surprise
I'll be shipping the DS files to Skyhammer soon.

I did too, it has been changed, it's now like the terrain in this video:

EDIT:
I've uploaded the 1.0 version to SWBFfiles. I'll bump this topic and update the first post with the review and new screenshots when it has been put up.

@mswf: Hey, I heard you were looking for a good loadscreen. Well, I played the map and it's actually quite good. Here's a pic I took while in game:

Whaddya think?? It looked a lot better in game cuz there were shadows everywhere.

I think that its 1/6th the size of my moniter, and if that was a loadscreen, it would pixelate BAD.

It's a nice glamour shot, but I've already uploaded the 1.0 version to filefront, so I'm sorry, but I have'no use for it anymore.
