New rifle;

Texture and wireframe will commence either tomorrow or the day after, because my parents are yelling at me currently.
Questions, Comments, Flames, Jawas?

Mostly inspired by a certain pterosaur, wing design inspired by the giant flying creature from AVATAR (Can never remember its name. Couldn't be bothered giving it legs since pretty pointless and polygon waste.
Flying creature. XSI modelling experiment but also BF2 useable. Made from scratch, first a simple low poly version, used subdivision + a bit of editing to make the high(er) poly one. Haven't given it a mouth/textured it/made skeleton/enveloped it/animated it yet.
Will probably be used as an animated prop/skyobject on some DS maps (and also be will be released as assets).
While a flyable one
would be cool, it'd involve a bunch more anims (takeoff/land/death), i'm not sure if you can give flyers a looping flying animation and i'd also need to give it some sort of weapon (could mount a gun on it I guess....)
Might make another flying creature or two once I've got anims/skeleton set up.
Anyone got ideas for colour schemes? So far I've thought of a tan/greenish striped one with a pale belly for Crathe (a plains/savannah planet) and a dark grey/blue-grey blotched one with glowing eyes for Maloss (stormy wasteland planet).

Looks good, man would it ever be cool in BF2... I understand completely why it isn't at least at the moment anyway.

There is a critter like that called an aiwha, and it has a blueish grey top with a white belly.

Not necessarily. Last I heard there was a market for flying Tauntauns. BF2's landing sequence would look odd on it, though, would it not?

Dunno much about vehicle anims........though the gun is for gameplay because the ai don't land. So if its unarmed all its doing is taking AI from combat.

OH LOL sry it was the needler carbine. GJ
I would say the base metallic should be grey and not orange/tan. And you may need to texture on some sort of *panel* onto the shoulder stock. Adding an extra 'spout' on the barrels will also help realism.
Other than that, it looks awesome

Wouldn't the rock-ish texture on the second kind of hide some shape details in-game? For example, it's a bit though to tell where the lower half-sphere becomes a flat plane.
