SWBF2 won't save video settings. [Solved]

Post by kinetosimpetus »

Every time I load SWB2, the video settings are the same custom set, that is pretty low. View Distance is 0, LOD is 25, resolution is 800 x 600, and everything else is off or low.

There is no Compatibility Files button, and there is nothing in the Virtual Store folder for Lucas Arts.

Users have Full Control permissions, the .profile is not read only, in fact, no file in the SaveGames folder is read only, even though the properties for the folder itself say there is a file in it with read only.

I tried creating a new profile, the same thing happened with it.

I tried running in Compatibility mode for Win XP SP3, as Administrator, and both at the same time.
(I had a little success with both, but it no longer works...)

Sound, game, and control settings save without a problem.

OS is Win7 x64 Home Premium
SWBF2 is a 1.0 CD with a downloaded 1.1 patch.

Any other ideas besides reinstalling SWBF2?

Are you running the Safe Mode version of Battlefront II or the regular Battlefront II?
Battlefront II doesn't like to save my settings when I run the Safe Mode version.

Wow. That was probably it. The shortcut pinned to my taskbar said (safe mode) for some reason...

Directly running the exe worked. Thanks. :P
