If his "other stuff" are of the same quality as what he has listed, I would have expected a $600-$700 computer, not what he listed there. As to its "beastliness," it doesn't hold a candle to what Dohnutt wants to get. For that matter, THIS computer even has a better graphics card and according to pricewatch.com, only needs ~50 extra dollars to equal his stated specs.

I hope you have Vista Ultimate to make use of those 4GB of RAM, otherwise you just wasted even more money.

Not sure, but I got the best SLI ready one I could, in case I want to make use of it in the future (when I actualy have money to spend on a computer, I'm 200 dollars in debt to my parents at the moment).

SLI is a waste of money, the Cost:Performance Ratio is horrible. You're better off buying a single good card, then spending the money and time on a SLI setup. SLI ready parts cost more, and in total you may possibly get a 30% increase, but thats if you're lucky.

A single 9800GX2, GTX 260 Core 216, GTX 275 or GTX 285 is better then buying two 9800GTs or higher. Plus a SLI ready motherboard costs significantly more then a single slot PCIe board.

I built a friend a 2.3 GHz Quad Core X4 AMD, PNY GTS 250, Corsair PC6400 800MHz 4GB RAM, WD 320GB SATA HDD, 9 in 1 Flash Reader, DVD RW +/-, Thermaltake Soprano Series Case, Antec 650 Watt PSU, system for about $750. The motherboard is a EVGA 750a nForce with integrated 8200 gfx, so it runs hybrid SLI if needed, but has only one PCIe x16 2.0 slot, and cost only $80.

CPU, GFX, and RAM can be upgraded later if needed, and the system itself should last 5 years or more and cost far less then buying prebuilt.

The price for all the parts, the os, and the putting together of the computer was 763 dollars, they just nail you on shipping. As for the SLI, I thought it might be usefull if I want to upgrade, and it was recomended to me by someone I know who has made his own gaming computer, and ot was 58 dollars extra for the best SLI ready one available, so I thought it was probably worth it.

That looks like a good computer, for a bit more price - but better graphics card, processor, and RAM.
