New icons are loaded through the common.lvl. Make sure your common.req is loading your new icon as a texture, then load it through the addme using
before your giant chunk of mode/era changing. After it munges, copy over common.lvl from RSM\_LVL_PC into Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData\addon\RSM\_LVL_PC.
At least, that's how I did it a few minutes ago.

If you do decide to use common.lvl, make sure you delete everything but the lines for your single icon texture from its REQ.
