So, I have accidentaly deinstalled something of ms-dos.

I don't know much about PC's so I don't know what it did exactly, but I cna't execute any .exe anymore, no BF, no ZE, no EAW, no nothing

I know this is hard for you, but have anyone a idea how to fix it?
Please, I really need some help.

I assume you're on a different computer? (since getting on the internet would require opening a web browser, which requires opening a .exe)

Um...that's a pretty big screw up. I am not sure how you'd fix that, other than a reinstall of your OS.

Maybe someone else has another idea?

And may I ask...what were you doing when this happened?

You just pretty much killed off the ability to run any program.

Get your Operating System Install disc
Put it into the Drive
Reboot, and boot from CD (usually press Esc, or any of the Fx Function buttons)
Let setup load
Hit Esc to cancel the 1st repair Screen, get to the standard install screen
Select the partition with your OS and hit R to repair it

@Hebes: I am doing it from my IPod. I want to uninstal a program and accidentaly deinstalled the very frist program in my list (something with 16bit...) now my Bullguard locked every .exe and says, they are viruses


@VF501: Ok, if I do that, need I save any files(like the dataAAB=my map), or won't it touch any files like that?

From talking on xfire, i found a few things out.
1. its not the dos.
2. the virus corrupted every exe, except when you reinstalled windows, then windows works plus every windows preinstalled item.

What to do is reinstall everything you want to use. Since you reinstalled windows it most likely wiped the registry. So you may be able to delete the programs you want to reinstall out of the program files. For example, I'll use the modtools to tell you how to get things, hopefully, working again.

First:
check your data_ModID folder if you have any for saved data. Like reqs tgas, wlds, etc. and see if they can be opened. If so you are lucky, if not.. stupid virus. If you have downloaded assets in the bf2_modtools folder check them also.

Second:
delete everything in the modtools install but the data_ModID's folders (if they are ok) out of the BF2_modtools folder. Dont delete the downloaded assets unleass they dont work.

Third:
Reinstall the modtools with a new download of them.

Last:
Replace the ZE and VM in the hopefully saved data folders. Then test it. See if the world can open.

I have good news for ya (if you like my modding work):

My PC is running normal again, I can munge and Zeroedit

Only problem now is, that the Virus killed my Battlefront disk, so I can't install it at teh moment, but a new one is on it's way, so stay tuned
