Turn on backface culling in your viewport to see if some of your polygons have normals facing the wrong way, then invert them if necessary.
Also, you shouldn't use the Pan and Zoom Tool(Z key) when navigating your scene in XSI because it distorts everything, use the Navigation Tool(S key) instead.
Another thing to try is, after you have finished texturing your model and are ready for a final export
select your model go to Modify/ Poly Mesh and select Triangulate. It helps to fill in the "missing" polies
especially on sharp rises.
