CD Drive Messed

Well my CD drive isn't working. I don't understand because it was working last night. It makes a sound like it starting to spin but then it stops. It does this about three times and then stops. Is there any reason why it could be doing this?

Same thing happening here. It works after like 300 tries, but just barely. It sounds like it's trying to catch onto the CD but cannot. It often thinks there is no CD in the drive. I've been using the DVD drive since then (a great drive, we have two).

Thanks but I just decided to get a new drive and it works fine now.
