How to get more bump from your terrain.

Well if your like me the first map you created had no bump maping on the ground. Kinda looked like painted glass. I found this nifty trick in the hoth.sky file.

PC()
{
//TerrainBumpDetail("hoth_bump", 1.0, 0.3);
}

Used it in our naboo map. Looks great. Hope this helps someone get more "bump" in their terrain. You could even create your own bump texture, which is what I did, in gimp.

Looks nice. But i recommend using it sparingly - lag might attack

Bump mapping is a way to make 2d textures appear 3d. So basically, the ground will look more real, more like dirt, instead of paint.

notice how it looks "bumpy"? It's really not, it just has that apprance. You could really do this to any texture/terrain, from city streets to wooded forests. We have this map hosted on a dedicated so lag isn't a problem right now. But your right, those with low end systems will suffer with this option on.
