Re-installing mod tools will not even fix this [Solved]

Post by AnthonyBF2 »

I came across the most retarded issue ever with trying to mod the existing levels (shipped worlds)

This is only happening with Jabba's Palace and Mustafar.
Mind you I have been modding the stock junk for ages and have fixed every issue I ever encountered.

1) Opening either of these maps in Zeroeditor, there is no terrain or terrain texture
2) I can make what ever edits, change spawns, regions, etc
3) Munging, half way through it says Terrain Munge has stopped working, finishing the munge I go and look in the output folder and there is a map file about 1mb and a notepad doc that just says "ucft"

Clean munge will not work.
Making a new data folder / map will not work
Doing the 2 above things without even editing the shipped world (just copy from assets into Worlds)
Installing mod tools and re-making a new data folder and new world does not work

I just don't know... I have modded every level at ludicrously rates before and never got this.
It just doesn't want to munge a new tat3.lvl or a new mus1.lvl - each time just says TerrainMunge has stopped working.

If there is a fix... BIG EFFING Thanks!

My worse off computer crapped out a few months ago.
Mod tools installed in the default C:\ every time. I never change this.

Are you running everything as an administrator? If not, do so. This probably won't fix it, but just to make sure...

I had a similar issue (ZE not working, munge/clean not working, etc) and I solved it by moving my BF2_ModTools folder one level down. So instead of using

Code: Select all

C:\BF2_ModTools\
Instead mine are in:

Code: Select all

C:\SWBF2_ModTools\BF2_ModTools\

Tried this, still fails half way through the munge with TerrainMunge.exe has stopped working.

Well crack my up side the head and call me stupid... I chose to open the maps in ZE and re-color the terrain
and now it works....

The mystery still is... how did they get corrupted in the first place?
