The new expansion pack for the free (and may I one of the best) FPS combat game America's Army: Special Forces is here!

Download Link available on FilePlanet: America's Army: Special Forces (Overmatch) v2.7.0

Get it before the wait time goes to 3 hours or more lol. :P

You beat me to it.... It's about freakin time this version was released!! This is what I would like to see the next version of battlefront incorporate (if possible) - REAL team tactics, and objective play. The concept of conquest (taking over command points in a game) is a concept that has seen its day. (And that day was like 4 years ago!!)

Huge Download here folks (2.5 gigs!!!) I pity the fool who doesn't have high speed. Your best bet would be to wait until later this evening and find the torrent for it somewhere else. With enough people downloading this game, you should be able to get fairly fast dowload speeds.

I'll get it from a friend on a LAN sometime.....not waiting 6.5 hrs, not to mention the wait time...

6 1/2 hours!?!?!? Get into the new millenium buddy and get a high speed internet account. I just started downloading it (30 minutes or so ago), and I already have 914.7 mb downloaded.. Should only take me another 35-45 minutes or so to get the rest..

Well worth the wait though..

DSL here, not cable.

There happens to be money involved in that lol. :P

Think about all the people with Dial-up. While we play it today, they have to wait until two weeks from now (sarcasm...maybe :?). Can anyone say Major bummer!

Another 8 hours... :?

One thing I do like about FilePlanet though is that you can pause your downloads for 48hrs and start again later.

My internet connection is only 1.5mbps with an avergage of 200Kbps DL speed

Karnage runs 768kbps with an average DL of 100Kbps

And Razorpig, you probably have a connection running 6+mbps, getting an average DL speed of 1Mbps

Well, my internet connection is a cable connection (Shaw cable), running at 7 megs but my download speed on filefront was a consistent 406kbs. It took me just over an hour and 45 minutes. Unfortunately, I was busy last night and haven't had a chance to install it just yet, but oh well. Soon... Very soon...

Btw - I only had to wait in line for 20 minutes on filefront. Try it late at night, or around 5 in the morning. That way, there should be less people leeching. Less people = less wait in line.

could someone post a non-fileplanet link?
preferably 1 that doesnt need an account( i dont mind a long wait)
edit: hmm it seems there is no patch, you have to completely redownload it :( :(

One thing I'm not too happy about for the newest version of Army is the horrendous load times. It smacks of Battlefield 2 now, and I think that's kinda sucky if you ask me..

Also, 2.7 chokes out my system. I haven't had a problem with the game since it came out, but this is the first time I've actually had to turn down some of the detail settings just to get a decent framerate!!!

Maybe its time I upgrade... I didn't want to have to, but it appears I may have no choice. Is anyone else having these problems??

I DO have to say however that I love the new training modes (Javelin ROX!!), but the new rifle range is WAY too easy to get 40 out of 40 with the M16A2 (not that I needed it - I was already sniper certified). I also like that they now have certification trials for the other weapons (M9 pistol, M249 SAW, M203, AT4, and BDM)

All in all, I think that the download size was well worth it, seeing as how SO much in the game has been redone. Now if only they would optimize the game a little to work on older machines and get rid of the interminable load times, I would be in business.

I completely agree! I may not have the nicest computer in the world but at least v2.6 had a decent 15-30 second loading time (pending map), not 5 mins on almost all.

Same. I normally would have graphics heavy on all, but now most of them are down to Lowest.

I definitely AGREE! I love the new training!

Thankfully I was going to sell this computer and get a new one soon anyways.

I wish I had the extra cash to put out to upgrade my system. I may have to start buying piece by piece - starting with Mobo, cpu, ram, Vid card, and then Power supply. Unfortunately I don't have that kind of cash at the moment especially considering that the video card I want will probably cost me more than 2 or three of the other components put together.

I'll just have to dream until then..

I don't know if everyone here has heard about http://gtaa.shadowlan.us/, but, after it is back up and running (soon), check it out, since this forum rotates around the release of the newest AA, checking out GT's AA clansite would be the next possibility would it not?
