Okay, so I have a map, painted a with 4 cps and a bunker...I've followed Fierfek's tutorial, but when I munge, it munges in like a second, which I understand isn't what's supposed to happen. Also, when i run BF2, it blacks and returns
FATAL
Cannot load (or find, i forget which) mission.lvl.
Any help?

Just to the part with fast munging, are you using vista?
If yes, you could try the answer on the question:
"I'm using Vista and Visual Munge is not working properly, it is munging too fast so what's wrong?"
Just look for that in FAQ at "Note to Vista users".

For any issues with your map, check out the FAQ at the top of this forum.....this is what i found when i looked in it. Also try and search for other people with the same issue before posting.

do you have over 500 missions loaded in your game?

No, Win 7 64 bit.
More than 500 missions...no, just the standard, plus the convo pack and like three others
EDIT: Like 35 -- or does missions include all the game modes?
Even if that's true, i wouldn't have 500

Yep, actual unique ways to play so any given map/era/gametype combination is a "mission"

In that case, i have more than 500...what do i do about that? I'd gladly ditch KOR, I don't like it, but i don't know how...

So...
M=g*e*x
Where
M=missions
G=game modes
E=era
X=maps
Or something else?

Yeah that's right, but it only counts for the stock maps and the maps in your addon folder.

Basically but to get beyond the complex math of it

simply put if you get the Cannot Find mission.lvl error and the game just freezes such as you have experienced, move one or more maps from your addon folder. Most people make a temporary holding folder to move maps in and out of as needs be just so they can be under the limit. This also means if you do want to play one of the maps in the holding folder then yes you have to copy it back to the addon folder and move another one out. Bit of a pain yes but it is the easiest solution.

And this isn't really a noob question, because I'm not noobish according to some of the other members, and I didn't even know the answer to this...

Well, using the Vista Munge fix, I made another map and it munged fine. I guess I'll just start over...I didn't get too far.
Still kind of annoying cause I finally got the terrain and textures right. Oh well.
Thanks for all your help guys...
EDIT: SW_Elite: I figured I just like forgot to check a box in the Munger or something.

Most people make a temporary holding folder to move maps in and out of as needs be just so they can be under the limit.
I have an improved method to doing this; I have a folder called addon, and one called addon2. instead of moving the contents, I simply rename addon "addon1" and then rename addon2 "addon" if I want to play the maps in that folder instead.

That's a clever idea, I might do this if I ever get too many maps!
