Skin issue

So I'm attempting to skin my clone, and it works, except for the fact that it's using an old edition of the skin. I've since revamped it, and it won't change.

I've munged it, munged everything, cleaned then munged, changed the trooper in the LUA, then put it back.

The skin is the new one, I've checked, there's no instance of the old skin in my Sides folder, and using the SWBFII Viewer, I checked the skin, and its not the one that's in game.

Any help?

If you made a custom side instead of using an existing side folder, did you add create the side folder under Data_ABC/ _BUILD/ Sides, that contains a clean and munge.bat file inside of it? if not then that may be your problem. I know that i usually forget that step...

Nope, I used an existing side folder, and that didn't help.

Would this mean manual clean, or just the clean visual munge has?

This would mean a manual clean, which the OP probably hasn't done. It sounds like a manual clean would fix this.

What I meant was, did what the author say mean a manual clean, or just visual munge's clean?

QBIMSA (Quoted because it's my sentiments also)

is the skinned trooper the normal clone trooper? and do you have the dead clones assets in your map? if so, your going to have to put your clone trooper's skin into the map's msh folder as well.

also, are you putting dc: in your BOTH your lua and your bak files? you need to for it to work.

Nope; you only need to edit the lua. The bak files are just backup copies.

well ok then. since you have more experience ill take your word for it, but sometimes for me, if i dont edit the bak files, my vehicles wont spawn and other things go wrong. i guess maybe its just my newer computer having troubles with older things.

If you look at the shipped scripts included with the swbf2 mod tools, none of them have .bak files in their folders, .bak files are, as Fiodis said, backup files (hence the extension .bak) I say this because for one thing, I've safely deleted those .bak files with no ill effects.

really, really strange...i have no idea why it shouldnt have worked then..possibly a written error. anyway then, discard my previous advice. (besides the one about the dead clone assets)

If you're asking if the old version is still in my MSH folder, then no. It's just the new one, which is in both the BUILD folder and the SIDES folder.

I haven't done a manual clean. I'll try that then get back to ya.

no, im asking if you skinned the normal clone trooper and are having trouble with him. and im also asking whether or not you have the dead clone trooper props currently in your map.

See if it works if you give the texture the same name as the stock one.
"rep_inf_ep3trooper" i think. I once had this issue and whichever texture had the stock name was the on that was used...

So you do what everyone else does, right? And to stay on topic, When you change something and nothing happens, often a manual clean will solve it (at least my thoughts)

hmm i brought that up because lucasfart said

and i didnt know exactly why he would say that.
