I've casted my vote for Rogue Squadron, there were rumors waaay back when about a new RS game, and that seems very likely to me.

I dunno. When you're talking dollars and cents a game like Battlefront touches on both flight sims and ground combat at the same time. Although a new Rogue Squadron on Starfighter game would be great, I'll be pretty upset if they waste a huge reveal like the VGAs on it. Whatever they reveal had better be downright epic. Save the RS/Starfighter reveal for early spring.

I'll assume that you have played the original RS games, and personally to me, they were some of the best games of their time, and still manage to outclass many newer games today with its unique style of Star Wars gameplay. I would love to see a new RS with enhanced graphics, maybe a new storyline, and everything else brought "up to date", but still keeping the original essence of gameplay. That would definitely be worth a VGA reveal to me.

I think a while ago it was confirmed that Rogue Squadron was being ported or remade for the Wii, but it was going through legal issues, so I have my doubts that it's going to be that. Still, there's the possibility of it.

The fact that there was news about it in the first place is why it is my guess, i mean, what if those legal issues were solved? What if they just decided to avoid legal issues and make a new RS?

I'm really thinking this will be BF3. I've thought it would be nice if it was in past events like this, but there are just way too many signs pointing to it this time.

They have all the BF3 models from the leaked alpha, and some of the voices. Animations, textures, everything. They aren't just going to let that go to waste.

They have had a year to improve on it from that stage. I know, some of you are thinking why they didn't just release Elite Squadron later, with the game, than in November of '09. The reason for this is, LA and Rebellion need money, and they need it fast.
It only took a year to make BFII, and BFII only had an engine and a few models to work with. This has an engine, a plot line, and almost all the models and animations. I'd say it's about ready by now.

If that "old series" reference was made about the unknown Star Wars game and not about Monkey Island at E3, they've called Battlefront an old game when they re-released it in the Steam pack.

While I really wish it would be BFIII, I still hope for a entirely new series or such. There are so many different plots revolving around Star Wars that can become great video games.

yeah that's true. We know for a fact that LA already has all of the content from the original swbf3 (just not the engine). If they aren't already working on it with a developer already, they are certainly working on finding one. They have already put a good amount of resources into this and they're not about to just throw it away.

The Wii port of RS most likely is to satiate Wii players who might not get swbf3 or whatever this is.

I don't think it'd be a console exclusive, especially Wii. No offense (I own a Wii). I think it'd be PS3 and 360 and PC because that's the main audience watching the VGAs.

I think I'm going to put my money on BFIII too. That, or an updated Xwing vs TIE fighter.

One thing iv noticed about this announcment is that... None of it has been leaked or even a image has been released so lucasarts are keeping this tight. Usually there is a leak of something before an announcement.

Yeah, LA really doesnt want people to know about it. It'll be a sequel to something, defintely.

LucasArts has made no official announcement regarding the current status of Star Wars: Battlefront III.

says it all really. strong possiblity that this is the announcement we are waiting for

Has anyone else noticed how strange it was for LucasArts to release an iPhone app a short time ago for an X-Wing "Trench Run" game completely out of nowhere? Maybe a flight simulator isn't so far fetched...

Whatever i say i think or want, it wont change what it is, so im just gonna wait a few days. Itll be like waiting for xmas but shorter, and fewer gifts.

QFT. I'm still pretty certain that it's going to be a new "Clone Wars" game of some sort, but I won't start placing bets just yet.
