For those who may not know, Earthbound is an RPG game developed by Ape and HAL Laboratory for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). It was released in Japan in 1994, with an English translation in North America following in 1995. It didn't sell very well in North America, despite a very interesting advertising campaign (this game stinks!). You may also know of the game through the Super Smash Bros franchise, in which Earthbound's protagonist, Ness, is a playable character.

So I took a look at some of the game's maps and thought, "hey, why not?" I decided I'd try replicating Onett, the first town in the game, in Star Wars Battlefront II. I took some creative liberties, of course, so it isn't an exact copy. I did make sure to match the layout of the town.

I can't say for certain what's in store for this map other than a standard Conquest game mode. There are certainly things I'd like to try, but I won't say anything until I'm sure I can accomplish what needs to be done.

Screenshots? Yes, I have a couple.

By the way, yes, trash cans do restore health.

Wow dude, that's awesome. Good looking map you have there. Nice to see that you're back in action. For a while you were MIA.

Hey, good for you! That looks like fun. I've always thought about doing the same kind of thing (3D conversions) of 8/16-bit game towns/cities. Try replacing the trees with trees that are a little more thematically fitting, though.

Looks like a neat map, maybe go for the lollipop style trees of old games.

@ Anakin - I think it's supposed to look like that. I don't think adding patina would improve it any.

EDIT - Lol @ "At least one post has been made; you may wish to revise your post in light of this."

Took a whole lot of revising....

Looks like an interesting map Xavious, I was wondering if those buildings are destructible. I'd love to see one of those buildings crumble to my feet.

Possibly.

As said above by Fiodis, the map isn't meant to look realistic.

No, the buildings aren't destructible. That seems like it would be an unnecessary feature.

And I'm working on some non-Yavin trees.

Looks terrific! You know, I've always wanted to play an RPG-type campaign in a small town such as this, I'll keep my fingers crossed that you decide it would be so awesome it's worth the time and trouble to do.
