LOTR: conquest

well just looked at ign and pandemic has exposed their new project: LoTR conquest.

its basically battlefront via LoTR and some newer technology. looks interesting..

Looks pretty cool, but I think they're basing it off of the Battlefront system a bit too much :|

Yeah it looks like they are just building off of Battlefront. Oh well, I guess this is Battlefront III. :wink:

Interesting... I doubt it's Pandemic, it's probably just guys that have moved on from there. From everything I've researched people typically don't stay at one dev company for more than a few years.

I've imagined a couple of times what a LOTR Battlefront-style game would be like. Guess I don't have to imagine anymore... I hope this is good.

All I know is, I'll be ticked if Luke's animations get in the game somehow. They used those enough already! >.>

That would be hilarious.

This looks really good actually, I think they improved the graphics, cause they look sweet!

If it's Moddable, AND runs on the same system, (which it sounds like it does) think of all the cool new .msh's.

Looks pretty good, and does look a LOT like BF2. I've only played one LotR game, and it kinda sucked...

phhhht i did..

im not to excited about the only 4 classes w/ no customizable options, but being able to do any battle w/ any character w/ any ridable will be awesome.

I dunno, if we did, we'd might as well change our slogan to "Get More From Your Pandemic-made Game"
I think the core of this community is still Star Wars, personally :|

I'd be up for doing a SWBF 2.5 mod from LotR: Conquest if mod tools come out :P

Oh please no! The Zero engine in it would not be funny, it would be highly irritating. And it would probably crash within 5 seconds because there are too many units on the field. :P
The only internal part that I do hope they keep is Lua. It's my #1 favorite scripting language.
