maybe someone can need itYou must copy the 1st person files of (for example the scout trooper) and insert it in your mod side....then create a new REQ file in the FPM folder (FPM= first person model.....just look in the shipped files).......then you must change in the soldiers odf the path of the 1st person view......or u use the shipped one^^......in that case i'd be
FirstPerson = "REP\repfelsn;rep_1st_feluciatrooper"
REP for Side folder name
repfelsn for the req's in the FPM folders name
;rep_1st_feluciatrooper for the model (.msh) name
if you want a new one (new texture etc....) u just copy the files in your side folder.....the name of the side is for example LOL....then ur line in the odf is:
LOL\edited1stpersonview(.req);edited_1st_personview(.msh)
of course not the "(.req)" and "(.msh)"
i hope you understand it

Is this for making a custom FPM? I'm having trouble getting the game to recognize my custom FPM, so this helps significantly.

RE: wrong 1st person view? here we go....
ok just found the fix for a custom FPM!
go to data_modid/_build/side/ rename munge_fpm.bat to munge_fpm.txt and replace all @...let the replace field empty!
save and rename again to munge_fpm.bat.
Munge......go to _lvl_pc and copy the whole FPM folder in your modid/_lvl_pc
finito (i hope ;O)

psychofred, would that also work if my side is still named REP (in case i want to change clones´ 1st person view) or is it obligatory to rename the side

That would depend if the reqs/msh names are different. Whatever you load last will override the ones loaded before.
