How do you remove shineyness?

Anyone know how to get rid of shineyness on textures.

Im working on (okay i lie i lie I stole the root skin from the assets, but hell it had to happen sooner or later) a more realistic SBD, and aside from some smoothing out of the texture and some blending, my only gripe is its shineyness, which results in it looking like a barbie doll.

Ill get a shot up in a second.

Edit: and just so you guys doing point at me and call me noob, no the skin isnt shiney. It barely has any lighting angled onto it. All im hoping is that this has nothing to do with the msh.

Also, can you use the -32bit in a skins option file?

I do believe the shinyness come from a flag script. You might be able to remove it with Bconstructor.

Either that or it's a shader (which are created from the XML files in the /common/shader folder). I don't think anyone's messed with it much.

if you want to skin something darker, use Hue/Saturation. If you color over top of the original skin, you tend to get a shiny thing u cant erase.

The thing is, this skin was already existant. Its called sbdroid_a.tga I believe. All I did was add the red eye and sharpen it.

Yeah, that's why I'm 99.999991% it's a shader. It would have already been defined for the game when it shipped. Nobody has tried editing the XML shaders yet, so let us know what you find.

No pressure than.

Now all I have to do is make sure I find the answer to something I have no clue about. Well hopefully theres a chance maybe I'll figure it out.
