How do you remove shineyness?

Anyone know how to get rid of shineyness on textures.
Im working on (okay i lie i lie I stole the root skin from the assets, but hell it had to happen sooner or later) a more realistic SBD, and aside from some smoothing out of the texture and some blending, my only gripe is its shineyness, which results in it looking like a barbie doll.
Ill get a shot up in a second.
Edit: and just so you guys doing point at me and call me noob, no the skin isnt shiney. It barely has any lighting angled onto it. All im hoping is that this has nothing to do with the msh.
Also, can you use the -32bit in a skins option file?
