Thanks.

Which do you prefer out of those three?

Oh. No particular preference, really. They all look nice in their own way.

Can't hurt with a little variety.

Something for a map I have in planning that would go above and beyond in terms of custom content and change the gameplay for the better.
Need to change the UV's for the structure that's shaded too darkly under the bridge since I have overlapping UV's.

Ooh, I'm excited for that Interdictor-class Star Destroyer, especially if you eventually release it. Now, in your map, is one of the ways that you're going to "change gameplay" including the gravity wells on the ship? 'Cause if you got that to work, it would be awesome!

Na I don't think that's possible, I just wanna add some influence from the Rogue Squadron series as well as X-Wing Alliance and change some things that just don't fit right, it's almost like they focused a lot on CW space in terms of accuracy but for GCW they just whipped it together just so it could be there.
There, fixed the overlapping UV maps, don't know why I thought doing that wouldn't affect the AO pass, I'll release it once it's done but just as simple frigate, they're pretty small ships.

Actually, I'm pretty sure Interdictor's were built on the Imperial-I hull, making them the same length. Which makes sense. They probably were built the same up to a certain point, then the rest of the construction decided whether they were going to be Imperial-I or Interdictor (saves money in the long run). It's a great model you've made. While I don't hate the CW as you do, I do love the GCW era extensively more. I've paid it
far more attention than the CW era in my Battlefront 3 mod. The campaign in the mod will be from the Alliance's standpoint, rather than the Republic/Imperial's standpoint like in SWBF2.

It's not built on the ISD frame, there were some variants like that but this is not one of them, play XWA and you'll see the actual size, it's about the same size as the smaller Victory-II class.
I don't hate the CW, just the corny tv show that contradicts the movies.

Ah, I see. I've never gotten to play XWA, sadly.
As for CW, heh, well, same difference. Perhaps you'll like half of the mods I'm working on then. You'll loath my TCW mod, since you hate the corny TV show, but maybe you'll like my Battlefront 3 mod, which doesn't include any TCW or TFU stuff. Of then there's Shattered Mirror but that's a wild card.

Faux textures applied for effect, the base which the detail will be added to.

Looks like a nice base. I always thought they were a bit darker colour/more contrast though. Are you planning on adding that in, or is it just going to be that pale?

I actually just opened the material for the imperial frigate and tried to match is best as possible, I'll see how it looks with some detail added, I can always go back and change the base color. It's not like I'm using MS Paint where I don't have separate layers, the Firespray has like 15 layers.

Figured I might as well make my own barrel texture to fit the theme of bland medieval props.

Not sure if I should add all this in there but it didn't take long to make and it still is lower poly than the pandemic ISD even without it's interior and destroyable parts.

I'd say keep that stuff and also add it to the ship's upper levels as well as the bridge part.

Wow. How many polies did the original have? I think that looks really good. If you can make a good texture to match, it should be far superior to Pandemic's version.
If it's got even less polies than the original, I think you should just leave all the panels there. They look quite nice, and with an AO bake, I think they'd work really well ingame.

Well it's the smaller VictoryI-class but the ISD in the stock game has loads of polygons and after importing it the reason is obvious, they didn't want to texture it. The entire model is made out of grids and the texture is only a 512* that tiles. So by splitting the model up say every 10 grids in XSI they were able to use a tiny texture and tile it over the ship at the expense of poly count.
I'll definitely do another AO pass, all the "greebles" will be a separate geometry with it's own texture.

Not as impressive as mini's work but still acceptable. It's some sort of exercise to get familiar with KDY's ship design, not an actual ship class (or maybe one I don't know of).

Ahhh, it's so nice to see the modeling portion of the community become more and more active.
