So i am doing my Sewer map.
and i made alot of "parts" i wanna make the map off. My problem is: I HATE THE OBJECT CONTROLL in ZeroEdit. Since i got all the parts done is it possible to create the "map" in my 3d program by using my parts and make it into one big object? In my logic it wont be that difrent since the polycount will stay the same. Any thougth on this?

making the whole map 1 object is the dumbest thing you could possibly do. It would lag to insanity. You must use small objects and then apply portals and sectors so the computer doesn't have to render the entire map at once.
btw portals and sectors don't work until you do this: http://www.gametoast.com/index.php?name ... 717#103717
If you don't like ze's object placement...there are a number of tricks to it.

Hint: If you don't build collision geometry, ze will get a boost in stability.
(the whole build collision geometry option in ze is extremely overrated in the docs, at least in my opinion)

You could model your map as one object, then split it into multiple scenes. Then, in ZE, set their heights to be the smae number, and you only have to worry about aligning them in two axes.

Yes, locking the heights makes object placing alot easier. The only problem I have is rotating objects, using the X control only gives you so much accuracy....

How other can you rotate them? Am I correct in understanding this can be done through file editing? I too have always found it a pain in the Diet Dr. Pepper to get objects such as buildings properly aligned. Rarely do I succed, unless I just open up a base map and save the necesarry objects as a group.
