Blur region?

alright, so i know you can add a blur effect to a level in the .fx file. But is there a way to set a blur in one area, but not in another, all in the same level? that would really help me. *for example, suppose I have a level with a deep chasm with a death region in it, and I'd like to add a blur in the chasm to make it appear even deeper... is this possible? and how?

not sure about localized blur but what if you put in a light mist intstead? It might blur things enough to make it look forboding. The ones from Dagoba should work.

you could just blur the texture...

Well you could set up an effect using a custom geometry as explained in this topic:

and give it blur properties (you have to manually copy the blur effect type from a file that already uses it, Particle Editor can't create the actual blur type.



Give me the rough dimensions of your canyon and I can make one in the next few days.

Wow thanks! Well I Was thinking that at a certain height, everything below would be blurred.. kind of similar to adding water to a map?

So a very very big cube shape or something would be great. Something big, that could be tiled throughout the whole map... is that to vague?
