HUD of BF1 in SWBF2

HUD of BF1 in SWBF2

Hi there,

I was just asked by someone, whether it is possible to copy the heads up display of BF1 into SWBF2. I am not too familiar with the ModTools, yet I've seen some files and/or folders with names like HUD and interface. Maybe it is possible to insert the BF1 HUD in BF2?

Would be nice if someone could tell me whether it is possible, thank you! :)

The best you could do is a "tribute" to the Battlefront I HUD. There are some things (such as having the friendly team be green) that can't be done in SWBF2, but some things could be. SWBF1 used a different system to script the HUD than SWBF2, which is why nobody has ever tried. It would take placing everything over again manually and creating a lot of faux 3D models to replicate HUD elements.

Ahhh... so it's no easy copy-&-paste-and-adjust-some-names-in-script-files thing... too bad. When I think of it, I have to say that the HUD of BF1 was better than the one of BF2.

Thank you for this information. Although an answer like "yes, it's super easy!" would have been better, it's also good to know when something is really hard to accomplish. I won't touch this HUD idea never again.

One question: Why isn't it possible to change the colour of the team? I would have thought that this is one of the things which would really easy be done.

It's hardcoded, it's possible to change CP colors, they just won't be changed when you capture them.
