What would you rate the Crysis Series/Crysis 2!!
I would personally rate the Crysis series with an epic 10 points. That has to be the best FPS I have ever played, even better than Halo. I loved the realism (Or how real you can get with a Nano-Suit) and the unique gameplay. I could play that game over and over again. Though I did like Crysis one better than Crysis Warhead. Also the graphics are some of the best I have ever played. When I get my new computer I should be able to play it on Full graphics!!
Also I have found information on the internet about Crysis 3! Just google Crysis 3 and try to find some true telling forums.

Wrong forum - moved.
Oh, and Halo's much better. Crysis the best looking FPS out there, but I haven't really liked any of Crytek's games, neither the Far Cry series nor these.

I can only play the Crysis series on all lowest settings, so for me it's definitely not the best looking FPS I've played, but I still like it better than Halo.Teancum wrote: Oh, and Halo's much better. Re: What would you rate the Crysis Series/Crysis 3!!
Lots of people have to play Crysis on the lowest setting, that just goes to say how good the graphics are even on low. I also read somewhere that one tree in Crysis has more components and graphic animations than the entire world of FarCry.Hebes24 wrote:I can only play the Crysis series on all lowest settings, so for me it's definitely not the best looking FPS I've played, but I still like it better than Halo.Teancum wrote: Oh, and Halo's much better. Plot wise I will give you that Halo is better. . .slightly. Tactics wise Crysis is better. The main tactic in Halo is jump around as much as you can and blow someone up. In Crysis if you jump, you get your head blown off. Each person can have their own fighting technique in Crysis, in Halo there are only two ways to play. Snipe or charge!!
Graphics wise, Crysis is better hands down.
Gameplay wise, Crysis is playable many time over, while Halo gets boring after a while.
Crysis has more varied AI animations and direction.
I like Halo, don't get me wrong, But in 2010 when Crysis 3 and the X-Box 360 Crysis games come out they are going to be more opular than the entire Halo series hands down!!

I personally have never played Crysis, but from what I've seen I like Halo (which I have played) better.

Many people have said that. I did and so did my friend, we both liked Halo better then I got the game, played it and found it better than Halo. He got it and found it better than Halo. There should be a demo you can download. Google it, maybe it will be there!GangsterJawa wrote:I personally have never played Crysis, but from what I've seen I like Halo (which I have played) better.

I see your fairly stubborn about your opinion being right
. I have played neither, but I think Halo looks better gameplay wise (but neither as good as Valve stuff) , and for me thats what I care about most.

Nope. Not unless they can beat Halo 3's multiplayer, which no 360 game has done. Nobody has 1/2 the depth of the Halo 3 matchmaking and Forge systems.delta578 wrote:I like Halo, don't get me wrong, But in 2010 when Crysis 3 and the X-Box 360 Crysis games come out they are going to be more opular than the entire Halo series hands down!!
Visually Crysis is beyond stunning. I'm not arguing that. I just didn't find the game fun.

I really don't think that any FPS really trumps another completely. They each have their own strengths and weaknesses, and are fun in their own unique way.

I am! I must admit that Crysis multi-player and Halo 3 multi-player are different in many ways. Halo 3 multi-player is better yes. But imagine Crysis Co-op Campaign. Now that would be something.Hebes24 wrote:I really don't think that any FPS really trumps another completely. They each have their own strengths and weaknesses, and are fun in their own unique way.

But look, this thread isn't really for debate, we can do that on another thread, a Crysis vs. Halo thread. This thread is for Crysis fans like myself. I am sure that I have done my fair share of starting an argument. I will start a debate thread if you want to discuss this subject there.

Re: What would you rate the Crysis Series/Crysis 3!!
As for me so I do not like Halo games at all, but I like Crysis.
Still its not my favorite FPS game.
If I want a fast and action packed gameplay I play CSS, HL2, SWBF/JO/JA or CoD4.
Otherwise I play Rainbow6 games (the good ones, not that new stuff), Ghost Recon, SWAT4 or any of the OFP/ArmA games. I guess Crysis fits more into the second part, at least I always play it sneaky.

Re: What would you rate the Crysis Series/Crysis 3!!
Halo Series Gameplay= Arcade Shooter
Crysis Series Gameplay = Realism Shooter
Two different categories, i.e. incomparable to each other.
Though you may say that Crysis is in no sense realistic because of the futuristic technology featured in it, it's emphasis on the effects of realistic aspects such as breathing and movement on shooter gameplay puts in the "realism" department in my book.
Halo, on the other hand, puts emphasis on more "non-realistic" gameplay; it doesn't emphasize the effects of bodily movements on shooting (one good example of this is being able to snipe while jumping).
These two types of gameplay appeal to different people/moods; the question of whether one is "better" than the other relies on personal taste.

A super-suited uber-soldier on a desolate tropical island pwning entire armies & eventually masses of typically huge aliens singlehandedly is realistic?
(Yes, I read your post..)
For the sake of throwing it out there, I hate comparing games like Halo to games that aren't even meant to be the same or a similar thing. Like when everyone had a fit about Halo 3 vs Call of Duty 4. They're FPS games, but otherwise completely different. They weren't made to try and top the other (no more than any other video game, that is). So if you like one better than the other, good for you; millions disagree & millions disagree. The rest don't really care. Like Taivyx ended his post with, it depends on what YOU like. There is no definite "better".
Back on topic, how about we wait until "OMG CRYSIS 2!!!" before we worry about "OMG CRYSIS 3!!!"? I'm sure it says "Crysis 13" on the internet somewhere. I'm sure they'll make & hype a second one before a third.

So I suppose this means that the vehicles in HALO are there simply for the scenery? I don't remember vehicles sniping, or charging. And saying that everyone jumps around can only be said by a person who hasn't played HALO. It's a relatively popular gameplay style, that's true. But there are SO many other game opportunities in HALO. Besides, is HALO is one of the most praised games out there, but you can only snipe or charge, what does that say about EVERY other game out there?
Graphics wise, Crysis is better hands down.
True That;
However, if Crysis is so great looking, how come there aren't too many Machinimas out there for it? Or videos of anything other than regular gameplay? Thats because what HALO lacks in Graphics, it makes up in community. Also, the graphics make it extremely demanding on a PC.
Gameplay wise, Crysis is playable many time over, while Halo gets boring after a while.
Which is why it's the most popular game franchise of this decade? People who get bored quit, and play other games. This is NOT a problem in HALO, in any of the HALO games for that matter, on any platform. HALO:CE is actually for more thriving in multiplayer on PC and Xbox than both Battlefronts put together, and the trilogy arguably has one of the largest and most active online ingame communities on any platform.
Crysis has more varied AI animations and direction.
All AI have their faults. Also, the thing that makes HALO so beautiful is how accustomed you become with the enemy. I will always look at a grunt and think coward, and I'll always look at an Elite and say "Diet Dr. Pepper, them shields is Hecka powerful!" It can be argued that the variety in Crisis makes you have to adapt on the spot, and this may be true, but I think the environment, and the possibilities it gives you in HALO makes up for that and sets it equal to Crisis in gameplay opportunities and AI.

Not sure what opular means, but no games so far has been able to best HALO 3 online, and the HALO 3 community is what will keep it up above other games.
Let's address everything separately, shall we?

Re: What would you rate the Crysis Series/Crysis 3!!
They announced Crysis 3 too? Are you kidding me?
Don't get me wrong, I love Crysis. I'm a Crysis fanatic. I'm a Halo one, too though. But I think announcing Cry2 and Cry3 at once is too far. but I agree with Grev. That was the most biased post I've seen in a while. If you had Halo 3 and Crysis for the same amount of time, played through them the same amount of times, and played them each for the same exact number of hours, then I would possibly, but ever so slightly, believe what you're saying. I love Crysis, but Halo beats it. On a scale of 1-10, Crysis to me is 11, Halo is 12.
To me you sound like you just got Crysis, no offense.

Are you guys sure you're not talking about CryEngine 3 and not Crysis 3? CryEngine 3 is not actually a game, it's just the newest version of CryTek's engine. That's all. It's what will power the game Crysis 2.

No offense taken from any comments by the way.
Oh I found this pretty cool piece of info that isn't related to this debate at all-One tree in Crysis has more animations and texture detail than the entire game of FarCry.

Ahem, what do you do in a vehicle. . .charge, I wasn't even referring to vehicles in that post anyway. In Crysis you can charge, snipe, assasinate, not kill at all (unless you have to I guess) and many other things that I am sure are to be discovered.

X-box version coming out in 2010. Crysis, if I remember, is a newer game than Halo. And video options are. . .limited at the moment.

Crysis isn't as well known as Halo.
Crysis has more varied AI animations and direction.

I can admit with much enthusiasm that Halo online is extremely popular. That doesn't rule out that Crysis sucks online, I find it quite fun.
So shoot me.

Special Forces do pwn and when you have a Nanosuit, you have an infinite amount of possibilities.

That doesn't mean anything out-of-context. One tree has more texture detail than a game? That's comparing apples and oranges, you can only compare one texture to another.delta578 wrote:Oh I found this pretty cool piece of info that isn't related to this debate at all-One tree in Crysis has more animations and texture detail than the entire game of FarCry.
