I was just wondering.......... how do you become a staff member. now i don't know where this goes

Definately not by having an oversized avatar.

I think by being respectful, following the rules, helping out and being generally good veteran member. And then a staff member has to elect you. I think. I don't know for sure.

You don't "become" one. That simple. I guess I'm just lucky.

Why thank you. Someone is kissing up. Everyone is watched by the staff and we see who would make a good mod and who wouldn't. We keep those in mind when a position comes open and then we approach the person. A good hint though is to read the rules and follow them. That'll get you noticed. (So would not following them, but that is a different topic all together. )

Is there a special list of "mods to be" that only staff members can see?

To be honest (and don't tell the other mods this) but i hardly ever do any moderating. In fact i hardly ever post anymore to tell you the truth. I'm simply here for the good vibe i get off the comunity as a whole. Diet Dr. Pepper this is good stuff!

The best way to be a moderator is to have something to offer and not need any pushing, people who can jump in and get things going without others telling them what to do or how to do it, initative takers who learn how to moderate forums before they start and know how to remove, add and talk to users. It also helps if you mod, know me, are nice to 80% of the people you talk to in here or are helpful or generally are smart and useful. People who follow and tell others how to stay within the rules on the site and pointing out site issues are also considered 1st.

THe blacklist is fun too.

People who never can get admin are new people who ask within 5 months of joining the site. Just aint gonna happen. People who are obviosuly 13 and act it with their posts will never have a chance.

Side note : the glory of admin is thankless so dont sweat what you dont have. Alot of times we dont even talk to each other anymore unless its about someone being an arse on the website so......enjoy like rends said, coming here and not having to be a bad cop good cop everytime you login.

Guru is right. We used to talk all the time, then things started picking up here and in real life. We are very busy admining the site, so don't be too eager to stress out and go bald.
