Localization troubles (load screen tips)

Post by MercuryNoodles »

Since the FAQ thread can't be accessed and the search function turns up nothing of worth, I can't check my work and be certain I'm doing this right.

I had erased the default tips and inserted my own long ago. Whenever I go to edit it with the localization tool, it doesn't appear to exist anywhere in the list. When I try to insert the new tip by adding a new key under common.tips and munge the changes, it still shows the old tip in the game. I've tried cleaning, and manually cleaning, but still no luck. I've even renamed the key to 0 to see if that was an issue, and it doesn't change anything. So, is common.tips where I should be working? The keys themselves should be numbered starting with 1, right?

Have I missed something? I'm running out of tricks, here.

As an aside, has anyone seen this before?

Code: Select all

Message Severity: 2
C:\Battlefront2\main\RedEngineFL\Memory\RedMemoryPool.cpp(330)
Memory pool "SpaceAssault::ViewportData" set up after being allocated
I'm not concerned about it so much as I am curious as to what's going on. I've only seen this error today.

The thing starts with 1, but it skips around. I assume you know where the tips are and that's not an issue, as with the knowledge of which box you modify. What you could try doing is deleting the scope for tips and redoing it as that may work, or if its not too much trouble copy and paste the default edit localize over it, but only do that as a last resort.
