Hi Eddie,
I'm not sure how you were able to put an x-wing in my map, lol. But yeah, the collision mesh of the buildings was a problem, which to my knowledge is still awaiting software to fix it. That is, unless you know of some that's out there, lol. Thanks for the compliments on the map too, it means very much coming from one of the best mappers SWBF has.

Hey Arramus and Dipstick,
I'm told by Ace Azzameen that the map can be made to work on a dedicated server using the methods (and the software) outlined in this link:
http://www.gametoast.com/index.php?name ... highlight=
I haven't tried it yet, but I wanted to post it in case someone else wanted to try.
This is apparently a beta for dedicated server software version 1.3. If you try it, can ya let us know if it works? I'd appreciate it a lot.

Hi everyone,
Just a note to alert anyone who is interested that ORD MANTELL: No Greater Glory works on dedicated server software beta version 1.3. You can download it here:
http://starwarsbattlefront.filefront.co ... Beta;40945
If you had the same problems with other custom maps (and I hear that people do), this may fix it.

Hi LK,
The vehicle colors came early in the map, and at the time (being a beginner), reskinning them didn't even occur to me. And after I had the color I wanted (forest greens and light tans), I never gave it another thought until now. But tell you what -- I've written it down as one of the issues to be revisited in the next version. I'm not averse to changing the colors, as long as they are practical considering the environment they're in.
I think of the map I just released as being a basic framework from which to do bigger and better things, such as new units, vehicles, skins, maybe locals, etc. All that stuff is gonna come eventually (hopefully with further help from the modding community), but I needed to put out the basic version first.
And thanks again for the input, I do value it, and it will be used.

all this is the same beta server you can find at the link below the quoted post(last page) except I took a few key components and moved them into the gamedat folder. This way disk space is saved, since it shares maps woth your swbf install. I made an EXE to do the work for you, but its only for the 1.3 version(so very, very, lazy)Rippentuck wrote:Hey Arramus and Dipstick,

New Map Release -- ORD MANTELL
Hi guys,
I'd like to get some feedback about something. I've recently received some detailed information about the planet of Ord Mantell (which I wasn't able to find during my own research), and while I personally think the environment shown in my map is possible on Ord Mantell, I'm informed that it may not reflect an accurate picture of the planet as a whole. In the interest of accuracy, therefore (and as much as it pains me to admit it), I'm seriously considering changing the location of this map to another, more fitting planet. Do you think this would be advisable, or should I stick with Ord Mantell as the locale, and maintain the possibility that it could have remote areas as is shown in my map?
Again I hate to do something like this, but I feel like I have a sort of "duty" to strive for accuracy along with other things. What do you think?

RE: New Map Release -- ORD MANTELL
I think i have found the suitable planet for you. i was lookin in the starwars databank and came across Mimban
"Mimban is the fifth planet in the Circarpous system, in the Expansion Region. It is a cloud-covered jungle world that is largely unexplored, orbited by two moons. The planet, formally known as Circarpous V, was never colonized by the Cicarpousians, but it was the site of a Imperial energy mining operation. As such, the atmosphere over Mimban was very turbulent. Starships without special hulls faced tremendous danger from the energy storms that streaked the stratosphere. The surface of the planet is dank, and the perpetual mist makes it difficult to distinguish night from day. The planet has five makeshift mining towns, all run by Imperials during the height of the operation.
Mimban has numerous intelligent species indigenous to the world, including the "Greenies" and the Coway. The first is a species of green-furred Mimbanite humanoids who have been exploited by the human population. The latter is a gray-furred species of troglodytes who are powerful warriors. Mimban had many other species as well who have since become extinct. One of these, the Thrella, built enormous temples and structures honoring their many gods.
Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa crashlanded on this planet when en route to a diplomatic meeting on Circarpous IV. The two faced many natural dangers in the Mimban swamps, and also confronted Darth Vader in a quest to find the legendary Kaiburr Crystal. "
You will probably have to change your story a bit. For the the galatic civil war you can say that the rebels took over an imperial mine and the empire wants it back. And you can use your imagination for the clone wars story

RE: New Map Release -- ORD MANTELL
Hi phildo,
Well since my map is not a stormy and misty jungle locale, I don't think Mimban would fit. I'll be doing some research to find a suitable locale. Thanks for the input!

Does anyone here know why this map crashes The Dedicated Server v1.2? There are no new sides.
