Peragus: Astroid Belt

I know, with all the other awesome maps coming out *cough*Saleucami*cough*, this'll prolly end up as a forgettable footnote. Nevertheless, I've been wanting a map that really combines land/space stuff, so I made it.
Anydangways, Peragus: Astroid Belt is a land/air battle, tons of ships, large battlefield, ect. There's capital ships and frigates, a ton of starfighters, and there going to be a nice underground complex.
Screenies:
Note: they don't really resemble Peragus in any way, shape or form. I might change the name later.
Current features:
- Large amount of edited starfighters; they have shields(!), different missles, stuff like that.
- CIS frigates flying around a Rep capital ship (you can't really see them in the screenshots).
- Canyon system; AI doesn't use it, but it's cool.
- In this version, I'm including minilogoguy18's 'Naboo N1 starfighter' and 'Virago'.
Stuff I'm going to work on:
- The ability to destroy the Republic capital ship; script the .lua to play a crash animation when it takes enough damage or somthing. I'm not quite
- Have the turrets on the ships shoot at eachother.
- Make the ground battle more interesting; it's kinda neglected right now.
- There's a few missing textures; lowrez droid starfighter, for instance.
- Reskin the Geonosis dust to be darker redder.
Technical stuff I need to figure out:
- How to script in the .lua; play animations, ect.
- How to make the pieces of the frigate when it is destroyed last forever (or, at least, script it to crash).

wow looks nice.

Gogie gets to point out the flaw that, Peragus was destroyed, thus using Minilogo's N1 Naboo fighter wont really do you all that much, good map so far, but there are the era errors.
also check into the kotor2 - bf2 mod of Peragus mining facility.

It actually looks pretty nice so far. The only thing I don't like is how in the last pic you can, wait for it, see off the edge of the world! O_O

@Gogie-
Yeah... this is completely un-canonical. It's outside of all of that silly timeline stuff.
@Bac-Talan-
Well, it's supposed to be an astroid. It's not all that big. But yeah, I'm going to add some fog in to cover up that little blemish.
@Darth_Z13-
Yeah, I like it too. Problems with it, though: after you land in it, it's kinda hard to vertically lift back off. Also, there's a weird one-way collision thing on the shield, so even if you do manage to go straight up, you'll crash into it anyway. I'm working on it.

Lets all remember that maybe peragus kept its atmosphere after the kotor 2 events. And that maybe all that's left is a big chunk of rock that was later colonized which is the battlefield

silly timeline stuff?!?!?! O_o
cannon is the only way to go, peragus was destroyed 10,000 years before those 2 ships were even concieved, also a battle there would be suicide since the planet was composed almost entirely of fuel, one shot of and the whole place goes up instantly. it was also never an asteroid belt, it was chunks of the planet from it blowing in half from a single mining spark. the N-1 is a craft that only the naboo RSF uses and the star viper (virago is just the name of prince Xizor's modified version) is a mandalorian craft that succeeds the basalisk fast drop raid craft.

very nice!
heres a little tip for the edges. if you have flyers that can fly higher then the mountains/hills. raise the terrain around the edge up to around the same hight as the max player height and then sink the back of the mountain down ((along the edge, terrain on the edge is lower then the mountain)) that way you won't see the "edge of the world'

ummm...did you do any research or do you know this stuff off the top of your head? O_o

Well heres my two cents:
Its okay for there to be two Peragus maps(look how many naboo maps there are).
Cannon is good but this is battlefront(look how un-cannon it already is). So don't sweat it, fun is fun and thats the point.
This map looks sweet and theres no way it will be overlooked.
Luck on your modding ventures Rikino!(Can't wait for this map)

Correction. 4,000 years.

Thanks, everyone! I'll try to get a beta up as soon as I can.

I am perfectly aware of the fact that
Peragus II, a planet in the Peragus system, is an explosion waiting to happen (or was). That doesn't mean there isn't a piece of non-flamable rock somewhere in the Peragus system.
EDIT: Okay, I made that up on the spot. Silly canon, always foiling my plans.
(Actually, I was planning on sticking some Polis Massa astroids in that explode violently when destroyed.)
As for the N1 and Star Viper, err... okay, I can't think of a way to make them feasible canonically. Honestly, I just threw them in because I wanted to see them in a map. They're awesome, btw, but I'll take them out if you want me to.

I usually do somthing like that, but that'd be kinda awkward on this map; it's supposed to be a astroid, not a single location on a planet. I'll do somthing else to obscure it.

Well its YOUR map, YOUR choice, we can only infulence it. Personly, I would like to see the N-1 and Star Viper( not many maps with them).

Well, they kinda belong to minilogoguy18, he made them.

i dont care what you do with them, you could paint them hot pink and cover them with rainbows and write boy-toy all over them, im just saying, they dont belong. i knew most of that stuff off the top of my head btw, i was just guessing on the 10000 year thing, most of you younguns dont know anything about the star viper because Shadows of the Empire is before your time but it was popular while i was about 10 or so, all of SotE is cannon as well, well the novel is at least, the game is inaccurate.
oh yeah the thing about the star viper taking forever to be released was because it was meant for a skyhook battle map over coruscant, i just never got arount to making it, but you could also find my outrider model in the XSI forum if you look hard enough.

I know I shouldn't have.
But I did.
Yeah, I probably won't use the N1 in the final version, the Viper I probably will.
