Custom character name [Solved]

ive been trying to figure out how to make my custom made characters actually have a nambe besides 0x1345232143 and stuff like that. i know its something really simple but i just cant find a guide stating how. anyway thanks for your time.

editlocalize.bat in your main mod folder is your friend...

easy go to C:\BF2_ModTools\data_XXX and open th efile editlocalize.bat so go to ENTITY rep, cis etc search your 3 letters army and your custom character name .req and give him name in your language section

hmmmm... my 3 letter army does not appear in the Entity section. i can change other names now though, so thanks for that much

If you have a completely custom side, then let's just pretend your side is called abc. Open up editlocalize and go to entity and make a new scope called abc and inside make a key called inf_trooper or whatever you unit's called. DO NOT CALL IT abc_inf_trooper! Just inf_trooper. Now munge and check the localization box in VM.

There seems to be a bit of confusion surrounding this, your SIDE name is irrelevant to localizing the unit, the ODF name of your unit is where you get your scope and key combination from.

i believe what general mitch was saying is that theoreticly, your character will have the 3 letter side name in its name already. he was just explaining it how he would have put it or something.
