Dissapearing polygons

Well, I have a slight problem with a (top-secret) project. In XSI, the object looks fine, fully textured, ready to go. I export, but when the model is tested, there are polygons missing. So far, this has happened on two objects. They were both imported into XSI using the ZE export to .obj format trick, so they were damaged when I got them, but as far as I could tell, there were no polygons that were inverted or out of place upon export.
I tried re-exporting both models, but the same polygons are always missing. The missing polies are part of the same texturing cluster, and look absolutely perfect in XSI. Does anyone have any insights?
