Kadrala, V2 Released! Sraiden, beta released.

Release date:
V2 released.
Features:
*Hopefully a 'fresh' environment.
*Custom sides. They're ones premade by me, so all already done.
*For version one at least, only CW Conquest and CW 1-flag.
*Dead clones, courtesy of wazmol.
*Captured animals that can be released, with...'interesting' results.
Map Description:
A few icy islands with pine trees, small beech trees and ferns in an icy cold, shallow ocean. Few big rocks on islands and out at sea. Most of fight takes place in a 'Snowmad' (nomad + snow, get it?) encampment spread over the islands. The Snowmads travel the southern seas of this planet, fishing, trading, hunting.... and capturing and taming wild animals from uninhabited islands and deep caves. This particular Snowmad camp has been attacked by invading droids/imperial troops (depends on era). Republic/Rebel soldiers defend the camp.

Please do not make any suggestions relating to sides.
If you've got suggestions about aesthetics (the maps appearance) then post away.

I have a suggestion about the world appearance. You should make either a tunnel for the map, or a farther off island controlled by the attackers that has a bomber or two on it, and anti aircraft on the main island. Good luck!

Looks pretty cool. Not got many suggestions, but maybe some more trees? Or bushes or something.

Yeah, trees. Although, I think you're probably going to add 'em.
And either extend the ocean or add islands / land around the maps sides. We don't wanna see that sky...Skyhammer.

Yes, it is, but the dark areas I believe are ocean, and those light blue areas are the lower sky. Therefore, ingame, one should be able to see the edge.

Yeah, make islands that aren't really used, it'll make a good effect. Also, make one secret island with *maybe* an easter egg, or something else that's cool. Maybe like a Bad-*butt* tank or something. Once again, good luck!

@Grev: I'm not putting palm trees on an arctic island.
@anyone suggesting more trees: those are just the big trees. There's plenty of foliage too (ferns, little pine trees).
@totally toenails: since time is a self imposed issue, then no easter egg.
@fingerfood: nope, just gonna make the ocean go out to near infinity, like on kashyyyk islands or kamino.
@nova Hawk: yes it is.
@Silas: finding a model for them to use is harder though.....

Actually on Kashyyyk they use fog to hie the end of the water, and on Kamino I think it's an effect.
And if you have jet / flying troops, they might be able to see the end of the ocean.
ALSO if a unit can see underwater, then you'll need some land to go at least up to the surface of the water so they can't see the edge of the sky.
Yeah, I'm a water person.

Hmmm...okay, that's a little annoying. Oh well. Have to put mountains round the edge.
Anyway, update:
Map is going great. Water looks good only on medium and high quality, but even with the foliage, max view distance and with shadows on there's virtually no lag, even for me (and I get a lot of lag playing yavin and kashyyyk. A lot).

You can probably have platforms on the trees, like on Endor but skin them differently with like a few snow patches on them. So that the snipers can shoot at the enemy coming to them.

@ Skyhammer: Mountains aren't necessary, just something to come up to the top of the water. For example, if the water came up to height 5, then land at the edge would need to come up to height 5.1. Very simple, and is only needed if you can see underwater.

@Fingerfood: Yep but if you're in a flyer you can see over the edge still, and I tried the mountains and liked them.
@Nova Hawk....it's tempting but I'm already using endor stuff for the dock and its a pain in the neck to get the AI to use them and not get stuck, so no. Nice idea though.
@Revan malek: morning fog, no, as theirs already fog bowing around, but good idea on the snow. Will probably use, thanks.
Screens:
Stuff to do for map still: make foliage better, make pier or 'dock', add in destroyed vehicles, put trees on the mountains in the distance, improve AI pathing, add extra CPs.
