I fully agree with you, Skyham, but let's not feed the fire... which is slowly growing...

Like what is the point of that rule and the one about being able to use JA models (because they'd been realeased to the community?) if people can just rip whole models (which we have several well done community made versions of already, see rule about looking for alternatives) out of other star wars games?

Why is this even allowed "just on GT?"
Deviss has already run this past admins, And even if Mav isn't very happy about it, they gave him the green light. I think you people should just be happy that these models have been released. If this topic as made it three days-four pages, and Mav has posted here about three times, it is obvious that the admins have seen it and have decided to let it slide.

It is slowly growing because you guys continue to talk about it, Mav said it's ok then it is ok (not meant to be rude).

everything in this pack can be released in either mods for rc (everywhere, since it comes from rc) or swbf(2) (as long as it is only being released on gametoast)

This is going a little too far. Let's read the copyright rules again:
http://www.gametoast.com/forums/viewtop ... 25&t=22562

Commercial Games (Star Wars)
  • Keep it small - Use as little as possible. For Example: If you don't need a whole texture, but rather the detail of Rahm Kota's headband, don't take the whole texture, take the part of the headband and put it on your model's texture.
  • Look for alternatives - Older games, such as Jedi Knight or X-Wing Alliance, have community remodel projects where they've built higher-resolution models to replace the old originals. Use stuff like this when you can. Community stuff is always preferred over commercial stuff.
  • Jedi Outcast/Academy assets - Player models were released to the community at large as teaching tools for proper modeling and UV techniques. That being said you may use them, however all other rules listed here still apply.
  • Copyright MUST be listed in the readme - If you use all or part of an asset from a Star Wars game, you MUST credit Lucasarts and the game's developer (if not Lucasarts). See the second post for a readme template.
This violates the first two rules. First off, the four protagonists and some of the weapons would constitute a big part of the game, secondly, free alternatives exist, made by NeoMarz.

The links have been deleted, and this topic is locked. Nobody share these links if you still have them. These models should also be removed from ALL MODS that are using them, since free alternatives exist. I'm sorry I didn't clearly see the issue here before (staff talked about this once before, but I was tired and didn't realize these were directly from SWRC).
