Heres a problem that im trying to solve ...... the brown background ....... i used to know what to do to but iv forgotten . Any1 know????

I'm having the same trouble with the brown in my space map. It's odd, I changed everything that is neccessary. Weird. Have you had any object visibilty problems as well?

no object visibilty problems yet . What kind of problems exactly?


I think taking out the terrain will get rid of the brown , tho i hope it gets rid of the brown on the mon cal cap ship aswell.. Were gonna have to take it out anyway lol .

Speaking of which... how do you remove the terrain? You know... so it's like Bespin? That'd help me out with my space map (jeez, everyone's doing a space map now, aren't they?), since there's not really any ground in space...

Hm...I color filled my terrain as black and am munging. That might help, but I made a backup and am trying now. What FarScene Visibilty would you suggest for a space map, Bandu?

do not go off topic please (i will make new threads for those maps when they are released )



Alpha to see OBJECTS far away increase the OBJECTVISIBILTY (most probably the end set of numbers)

Painting the ground black wont get rid of the brown problem . Im munging now to see if taking the terrain away sorts it .


Look in the SKYFILE sticky thread on the modding forum for info on all parts of the skyfile.

Heres the latest update. Things are starting to look more like how i envisioned it. The textures still need to be sorted for ALOT and the models/ships will be improved and more added aswell as the usually Bot routes etc . Still early days but piece by piece its nearing Alpha stage.

once iv done the following ...


1. added more little models to imp hangar
2. done some prelimary bot routes
3. added the asteroid field
4. textured the space stations and made them destroyable so that when destroyed the rebs lose.
5. made the ai attack the space stations (i hope its possible to make ai in flyers attack them ! )
6. added the tie rapture and interceptor and got them( incl. the defender) to spawn
7.increase size of mon calimari
8. some general texture tidying up.

hopefully youl be getting a pm tommorow night or day after .

I hope at least 6 of us can get an online game going to test it out........this map will be soooo much better online cos every1 knows what bots are like in flyers :(

Hey Bandu,

It looks like the planet is an actual 3D sphere. Is this map big enough that you could fly around to the far side of the planet?

If not, you might be able to eliminate a few polygons by just using an image of the planet. I don't know if this may be worthwhile, but I thought I'd suggest it.

Alright, I'll be looking forward to it. But yeah, playing multiplayer will be much better, since then we can have some actual battles and stuff... I've always liked dogfighting with other players... but not really with the bots...

But I don't think I'll be able to host, since I think the most players I can make it is about four or so... so that wouldn't work... I'd say get someone else who can host a game that holds like seven or eight people. That way a bunch of us can play and explore and kinda discuss what to improve on and stuff. After all, if we all get together and look for bugs and stuff, then we'd probably find a lot more than just one of us could alone...

Oh, and looking at those pics, I've noticed that the planet is kinda... weird... it looks all bumpy and fuzzy. Doesn't really look like Mon Cal. to me... maybe you could use this instead? Personally, I think it looks a lot better... but it's your map, so do as you wish...

nope the planet is just a grid ... its the clever shading that gives that illusion .... at the moment it is an object that i placed in ZE . Once I found out how to do my own horizins properly itl be put in as a part of the sky tga ...itll look much better that way.


about online testing .. maybe i can have a word with one of the TAW guys to see if we can 'book' an hour or so :)

il add all my testers on xfire (the ones that arnt alreay on)
