Wiered SWBF loading slowdown

Post by Rends »

Maybe someone can help me out here.
Since yesterday the SWBF loading time increased up to 20 secs before the LA logo shows up. Before it was about 5 or so secs.
And also map loading time increased up to 30+ secs . Normaly the the player selection screen pop up immediatly after the planet loading sequence (shipped maps).

Well the only things i changed yesterday was installing the Chainisle map and installing KotoR patch 1.3
But also after a reinstall SWBF (without custom maps)loads very slow.
I run dxdiag without problems and also made a viruscheck without results.
While SWBF was running (no maps) selection screens only the taskmanager show up 100 percent CPU usage.
Could the KotoR patch affect SWBF?
All other softwares still runs fine.

Any help needed!

One of my friends had the same problem and it was UD Agent he had installed. So, maybe you have some little program(s) installed (check them all next on task bar next to the clock) like mem optimizer, download accelerator or what ever. You could also Ctrl-Alt-Delete while loading SWBF and see if any process in eating your CPU/MEM.

Hope this helps.

Eddie said it best, I also had a lag until I noticed that my mem optimiser was set to enable intelligent optimization on. I disable it when I play and it fixed the lagginess. I did notice that the load times for the character select screen was increased since the last patch (might have just been my PC though). You could also try a program called "EndItAll" to close any un-needed programs. You said you ran a virus check but did you run a spyware check as well? Try Adaware and Spybot S&D (both are free) and you could also try SpywareBlaster found here: http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/ it works great and I have not had any spyware since (*knocks on wood) .

KotoR Patch 1.3. Is that some sort of mod for Star Wars Battlefront, or is it just a patch for KotoR? (Sorry if I'm being stupid!)
