Sure, get the latest version (3.5). It could help.

I, and the people who would benefit, appreciate all that you have done. Sorry that it didn't work for you, so far, it seems like the Runtime error is just unfixable. One last question though, did you try different compatibility modes with each of the frameworks?

Re-download the Modtools and re-install them.

That is about the only thing that should fix it.

I run the same version of Vista as you, and I use the 3.0 NET Framework, and it works fine for me.

Please read the whole thread before posting. We know that sometimes an install can go bad, but the Runtime error is one that has shown up in many different cases, and as I said, it's the only error we haven't been able to fix yet. Try searching and you'll come up with similar topics.

The only thing broken is ZeroEditor, your game works perfectly fine, and thus you will be able to play mod maps.

I'm not sure what you're asking, but if you're asking can you modify downloaded maps with the mod tools, then no. But don't feel bad, nobody can. Once a mod is compiled into a playable format it can't be un-compiled successfully.

if it is a mod map, then it will work fine, just drop the three letter file (ex. ABC) into your addon folder.

Yes, but you won't be able to debug it using BF2_modtools.exe or view it ingame.
