Ok, I bought 2142, just to see if I could strip out windows enough, and do some workarounds to make it run on older, lower end PCs.
I didn't get far, but I found out some things.
#1: You Can run this game on a bare minimum of 800Mhz CPU, provided, your RAM and Vid card is good enough. It will be slow and on the lowest possible settings though.
#2: 128MB VRAM is the absolute minimum. It won't run on anything less.
#3: 3D Analyzer is NOT compatible with 2142. I tried all possible settings, and none worked. Not even the Cmd. Prompt showed up.
#4: Upgrading is the best possible route, provided you have the funds to (as for me, I'm a poor sucka until my next few paychecks).
#5: If you somehow find a way to run it on a craptacular comp. Let me know.
#6: I'm a crazy psycho that tries to run High End games on Low end comps just to prove I can.
