when i download a map, i read the readme and it says to put the certain folder in the addon, but on winzip it puts up a bunch of files like the lvl file, tur, addme script, core, and all that crap! and its hard to assemble! i mean every map i install this happens! how do i fix it???

Usually it's supposed to unzip into the correct folders.
If it doesn't here is how the structure should look like:

Inside Gamedata\addon:
create the folder ??? (??? being the three letter name of the map)
inside that folder put addme.script and another folder named data
inside data goes a folder named _LVL_PC
inside _LVL_PC go the files core.lvl and mission.lvl and the folders SIDE and ??? (??? being again the three letter name of the map)
inside SIDE go the files tur.lvl and all of the the custom team .lvl (once again with three letter names)
inside ??? (??? being the three letter name of the map) goes ???.lvl (??? being the three letter name of the map for the last time now)

That's it. But notice that in WinZip usually a "path" is defined showing where what goes!

Personally, i think winzip sucks. It never put the files in the right place for me, and i always ended up losing them. The program i use is called WinRar archiver. It places the files in the right folder. What you should do, if you don't feel like downloading WinRAR, is when the screen comes up that tells you where the files will be saved, make sure it says:
C:\ProgramFiles\LucasArts\StarwarsBattlefront2\GameData\addon
This is the folder you should copy the files into. Otherwise, the game won't run and/or the map won't show up in the game.

Unless you have installed Battlefront II somewhere else. (example: in another language or in a certain game folder)
Just make sure it's in StarwarsBattlefront2\GameData\addon

Well, you should get WinRAR. Most of the time it puts the files in the right place, depending on the amount of times you put files into certain folders. It also has a memory feature, so that whatever location you type in to move files to, it will remember the location, and all you have to do to get to that location again is just scroll down and find it. And you always want to move your files to:
C:\ProgramFiles\LucasArts\StarwarsBattlefront2\GameData\addon
That way, whatever maps you want to play, you will be able to play.
