Yes, much has been taken into consideration with the water. In the case of my map, my units are weighted down and walk slower because of the water but have jet/bubble packs that can shoot them from place to place. One of the most breath-taking effects i've created, which even shocked me when i had first implimented it, was the bubbles. While you can't really see them in the pictures, they provide a sense of free motion underwater. If your standing still, the bubbles seem to rise to the surface. If your in motion, the bubbles shift accordingly to which direction your headed.
-While battledroids can work underwater, I didn't really have any template droids to work off of when I was first designing. I also wanted to keep with simplicity, since it seems kind of odd to have the battledroids fighting an underwater battle on kamino. I might however consider battledroids/clones for a future map(Mon Calamari/Naboo)
-The weapons and classes are pretty simple, one class for each side with 3 weapons. Each Seatrooper/Rebel Merc comes with a harpoon gun, which functions similar to a sniper rifle but the rounds are slowed and they have bubble trails. The second weapon is a shrapnel launcher which sticks to and damages vehicles. Finally there are concussion grenades for clearing crowds but have little effect against the subs. All units possess jetpacks, making it a pretty mobile map. To adapt the jetpack to the underwater, i've made it so it will provide an initial boost, but from there you'll drift back to the ground. Timing your jump allows you to gain maximum thrust and/or height.
-The vehicle i have designed is basically its surface counterpart, but instead the turret shoots torpedos. Even with all the rockets the minisub balances out the map pretty well. Hopefully I can get finished soon so that you all can enjoy the sheer havoc of two minisubs duking it out.
-The map itself is pretty simple. The story behind the map is that a platform from a kaminoan facility has sunk into the ocean. Imperial Sea Troopers have been sent to investigate, but find the rebels are attempting to salvage valuable data from the fallen platform.
Well, just a little work left and it will be done.

Astute, would you mind showing us a capture of your Sea-Trooper's new skin, if you've made any, please ? I just wish to get a preview of what I could see in your map...

Well, Its done. Here is the d/l link.

(Answer to below question) The rebels look a bit more like scuba divers. Since i didn't think the rebels really had scuba troops, i've made rebel mercs instead. Their skin is.. well.. doesn't look all that great in regular light, however underwater it looks really good and it helps to distiguish them from the imperials.
Here is pic:
To some it will look familar

, but if it isn't broke then don't fix it.

Edit: Srry I you posted while I was typing.

Edit2: A kicking underwater map almost ready to play and a new update on the techmap! This is an awsome day!
Edit3: Man! That looks AWSOME! It also looks like it could be a bounty hunter.

My Review:
Pros:
+ Awsome idea
+ Cool layout
+ Killer Units
Cons:
- Still wish spaceship crashes were avaliable (know their is not much you can do)
- Maybe an new underwater gun? Harpoon gun more clips?
- Luke looks the same as before, you could give him the rebel diver suit but with force jump, lightsaber, and force push.
Idea:
It would be cool if you had the old kamino cloning center in the distance, Or as a base and you could go in and make the gonk and health droid props and see them in their but disabled, and it full of moss and underwater debre. Anyways just a thought.
Score:
10/10! If you plan on doing another update or sequil their you go. But I know the modding tools for SWBFII are comintg out soon and those who have the game or ready to leave SWBF modding for a while or forever.

Hmm, knew i was missing something, heroes. Guess it never crossed my mind, should have switched them to regular troops when i had the chance. Heh, guess i felt rushed cause of the new tools.
No big deal though, not like the heroes really have much of an effect on an all jetpack map.
As for the harpoon, i set it to 2 rounds per clip so people can't just run in and solo, makes the group as a whole more important.

I like Sef's review setup, so I'm copying it:
Pros:
+The particle FX. Just great!
+The Imp skin. Looks just like the EU.
+The pieces of buildings. They look great.
Cons:
-The Rebel's skin. It's really plain.
-The sub -- same deal.
-The sub part II -- I'd say it needs to be a flyer
Overall I really liked it. 8/10.

Great map and an incredible break through in SWBF modding! Funny story: I was the Imperial seatrooper and I decided to go inside one of the sunken buildings. It was pitch black inside. Meanwhile, I had just logged onto AIM and it was playing a mini-trailer for
When A Stranger Calls. It had this creepy music playing in the background, while I was exploring a really dark building in
first-person view. At first I was like, "WTF?!" Then I got scared. I thought Astute had altered the map so that creepy music would play inside the buildings. I was completely unaware that it was actually my AIM so that's why I got so spooked out but talk about bad timing!
Again, great map! I'd love to see a Clone Wars underwater map.

I just played this map, just to see how it was. And I got one word to describe it; wow. Like, I'm positively amazed. This map just looks... beautiful. It really looks like it's underwater. It doesn't look fake at all... it's the real deal. Another chaotic Star Wars battle, in a new kind of element. If you ask me, this is probably the best mod map I've ever played. It's just so Diet Dr. Pepper unique, there's no way you can't like it. I was pleasantly surprised when I went and just pwned the Imperials. It was kind of akward at first, but after a bit of playing you get used to it. The spear gun is especially awesome. I love it. The lock-on ability was a nice touch... makes it much easier to actually hit stuff. Overall, I'd say this map is easily a 10/10... hell, make that 20/10. It's really great... you've done it again, Astute. You never cease to amaze me. Keep up the good work, my friend.

Thank you all for your comments, good to see you guys enjoyed the map. This will be my last map for SWBF1 unless of course we have trouble mapping/modding SWBF2. From what i've seen i hope to make another water map for SWBF2. Still unsure about which planet to do though. Considering Mon Calamari, Naboo, Rhen Var (under ice), or even something as out there as Coruscant Sewers.

My vote goes for Gnee Anselm, Kit Fisto's homeworld.

Oh, I think you should do Kothlis. It's a tropical planet near Bothawui (it's basically a Bothan colony, actually). There's a really great level in the old game Rogue Leader. Took place on Kothlis. Started out with a battle in orbit of the planet, with a Star Destroyer trying to intercept a Rebel Cruiser carrying the plans to the Death Star II. Rogue Squadron is able to destroy the bridge, the Star Destroyer comes crashing down. Rebel strike team goes in, retrieves the plans, comes out. Star Destroyer's reactor core explodes, bam. Now, that leaves you with a perfect story to pick up on. Maybe, the Imps send down a research team to investigate, Rebels maybe do the same... and there's your backstory. But, if not, I'd like to see Mon Calamari. That would be cool. I mean, you've already made an underwater GCW map... why not a CW?

I think Mon Calamari would be fine. Maybe you could get a modeler to even create some of the CIS/Republic vehicles. Hopefully by then we'll get Kit Fisto...This is all assuming that you make it for Battlefront II.

Or maybe the water planet from KotOR... ummm... Manaan I think it was.

That was a cool place, Teancum, but the people their would not the sith and the republic fight. So their would not be much of a storyline for a battle.
