Awsome. Might I suggest, tho, that the Gunships are spawned from a Venator just above the sinkhole. That would not only be more accurate, but just Diet Dr. Pepper cool.

Several Gunships are visual trickery...spawned above the sinkhole and animated to swoop in and attack. Many are actual LAAT's that must be piloted.
Still working on keeping themfrom crashing...AI are terrible pilots.

Ill collect some for ya tomorrow. Should have a first-draft out this weekend. Been playing with the animations...nice effects.

Stager00, I couldn't be more excited for a new map! Just curious how it was comin'. Your screens are juicin' me up. The wait is killin' me! But I know it'll be far worth the wait. I know you are finishing the Geonosis XL, and that one is my other fav right now. But I just know that the Utapau XL will surpase that one. Thanks so much. Later

are you gonna make the utapua map bigger than the one that came with the game. if this is xl i definitly should. lol. and it would be cool if it went in to the side of the sinkhole more, with more levels, and highways. great job! i cant wait! woot!

I appreciate the enthusiasm.
Im really wanting the first version to be as close to final as possible. Ive been on a long learning curve with Geonosis..so now I know some mistakes to avoid the first time out. I spent this morning tweaking Geo v1.7 and its in testing now...so I can go back to work on Utapau tomorrow.
I havent forgotten. Im looking forward to releasing this map.

i saw in your pics that you have the gunships taking off from the other side of the sink hole. are you eventually gonna change that so that the fly down from the republic cruiser??

YT-1300, if you go back to page 2 he has some screens available for download. You can see that there are more levels to the sinkhole, with LAAT's and Droid ships flying in and out of the sinkhole. And from level to level as well. Or at least that's what it looks like from the screens. It seems to be quite similar to the Geonosis XL. It looks ridiculously amazing! It's not even out yet and it's already my favorite map. I would imagine that since it's "XL", it's larger than the original Utapau that we received with the game. Later

This is true. Utapau has many layers within the sinkhole to fight..spiraling all the way down to the water body below. The Gunships come from the sikhole opening...and various levels/platforms within the sinkhole itself. The map basically has twice the fighting real estate than the original(thus the time its taking). Plus a massive troop count. Its a bit more customizing than Geonosis had..slightly more ambitious.

The screenshots show the blue 501st Troopers. But with everything that Stager00 has put into this map, the troopers skins are the worst of our worries. Yes, ultimately that would be great, but there is no way I'm complaining with respect to what I have seen in the screenshots. At some point I;m sure there will be mods to change the skins for each map. Or at least that is what I am hoping for. I just hope at some point someone makes it easier to input Clone Trooper skins into the game other than having to create a new "world" map in Mod Tools. Someone posted directions in some thread that were longer than my arm. It was ridiculous. There has got to be an easier way. I play MVP 2005 for PC and they are constantly updating new uniforms to download into that game, and it's easy as pointing to a folder using the installer, then pressing "install". Very simple. I wish someone would do that around here. Later
