Adding lava
How do you add lava? I know now that it's just the same as normal water, with death regions added. But how do you go about adding it? I looked in the mus1.fx file, and I couldn't find any lines pretaining to lava. I couldn't find anything in the effects folder about it, either; and that "PC" folder that is mentioned in the tutorial isn't there either. So how do I add lava? What files do I need, and where do I find them?

Re: Adding lava
I'm not talking about the lava prop; I'm talking about the lava lava, the liquid type you see under the comm antenna in Mustafar.
And thanks Mav, I've got it mostly working now. It shows up green, though, I'll see what I can do about that.

That is also prop lava (there is no water in Mustafar, look at the .wld file).Fiodis wrote:I'm not talking about the lava prop; I'm talking about the lava lava, the liquid type you see under the comm antenna in Mustafar.

Yes, but you see, it's not. I'm not talking about a prop. I'm talking about a lava that has ripples and splashes.

Re: Adding lava
oh, then i guess youd have to appy the mustafar texture to water and edit the watersplash effects

Re: Adding lava
That's what I did, and it works. Thanks again for the search reminder, Mav.

Re: Adding lava
Hey Fiodis, would you mind sharing your water-lava code with us? I left a Shola map pending because the Mustafar props weren't any good for a planet surface map and I could never modify the water properly.

Sharing? Code? It's just water with a different texture! Argh, I don't know why this hangs up people so much.vampire_lord wrote:Hey Fiodis, would you mind sharing your water-lava code with us? Re: Adding lava
I had no problem with texture, but I can't figure the color combination or rather the non-color for the lava texture to be opaque.

Alpha is transparency. Set it to 255.
