here is the place to discuss the game, many gamers were waiting for

here is my short review:
many gamers will be disappointed

whats good:
-graphic (would be a shame if farcry2 had bad graphic )
-performance (works fine at mid-high graphic options at my ati radeon x1600)
-ability to burn down the whole savannah
-weapons jamming and blowing up
-change of day and night (was done pretty well)

whats bad:
-story: no real introduction, no background, no cutscenes
-same missions, always
-same gameplay: get your mission, find a car, drive through the whole map, kill 10-15 enemies, blow something up
-lack of women (there are only two of them, both foreigners, africans seem to clone themselves, especially if you leave them for a couple of minutes), children, lions, elephants.... i mean youll meet only armed men and a couple of zebras, thats all
-same locations, its always the same savannah with a couple of trees (crysis had at least 3 types of different locations)

think thats all, farcry 1, crysis and crysis warhead were better, at least the gameplay and the story were better

I got the game when it came out on Friday, and I'm pretty impressed so far. I played the single player for a couple of hours, but then went to try out multiplayer and I've been playing that since. I have the Xbox 360 version and it looks great. My biggest complaint is that everyone always has so much health, and also most custom maps are far too big for 16 people, even if you can get 16 people to play on it. I'm sure people will realise that soon enough though.

You didnt see any Elephants or Lions while playing at Night or at Day in the Savannah?

I thought about to buy it tommorow.

Farcry 1 and Warhead are much better than Crysis that for sure.

indeed, however crysis had definately more action than farcry2 (and less boring rides) and that is what makes a good FPS game

and why, WHY, WHYYYYYYY????? are there no elephants, the dart rifle makes no sense for me without elephants

I didn't find it that impressing to be honest. The definitely fixed stuff in CryENGINE2 from the release of Crysis that really ruined the experience for me.

I wish there was more of a you play ALL the characters not just that one so you would know if there is a story line revolving around and play from all angles of it.

I got a quick play at my mates house and thought after that half an hour of playing how fun it was. The fire system is a really nice effect but I definitely wanted more African animals.

Do you actually beaten Fracry 2 and do you have explored the complete Areas?

no i havent beaten it yet, but i traveled much (not everywhere though) and havent seen them
if you find them, could you post a creenshot of a location at the map please?

Yesterday and Today i played nearly 8 Hours ( Im at 12%) and need to say this game rocks like hell.
You need to do Missions You need to kill everyone and You need to explore.
Thats what everyone wants

I dont found much contras besides of the absolute little Binocular and a missing MiniMap which could show minimum the Primary and Secondary Misson Path with Red /Blue Arrows.For me its sometimes very annoying to open the Card and PDA because im to bored to do that ever and ever again.
Its pretty nice and simple to understand the Card and PDA/Handy to complete the numerous Missions you got.
Also finding and searching Diamondbags while exploring the Districts is very cool.

Another big minus is really the less Appearance of Animals and Insects but i have seen some Children after completing a Mission inside of a Barrack.
But they are also very rare.
I read somewhere thats they want to release a Patch with more Fauna.
But its still a Shooter so no need to see crying Children and Woman running arround but more Animals would be nice.

I think the Time to beat Farcry 2 is over 70 Hours.What do you mean?

Im digging the fire system! I was messing around with the editor which I find very fun to use. I really wish they would make an SDK for far cry 2! It saddened me that they didnt put one in the first place.

Agreed.
At the Moment im totally bored with FC2.
I actually have beaten 52 % and did some Missions at the Southern District.
Act 2 makes much more fun to play and the Missions are much more challenging. although the Area contains more Water and lesser Save Points.What i pesonally prevere but if you played,like me,actually more than 15 Hours on Act 1-) Act 2 went fast boring.But its definitive more challenging than Act1.

Yesterday i played nearly3 Hours to finished only 1 Main & Side Mission (2%).The Distances between Me and the Missions i get, are sometimes very far away.With or without using Bus,Car or Boat.
Although there are too much Mountains,so you need to search to long for good Ways to reach the Mission Objects.

The Action in FC2 is mostly good (not awesome) and sometimes challenging,same to Graphics but the Game in complete sucks.Its needs way to much time to beat and is not fascinating enough to have fun on it for such a long Gametime.
