In Battlefield 2 you choose kits, not classes (though it's pretty much like choosing classes anyway), and when you die, you drop your kit which contains all the weapons and tools that you were carrying, so someone can come along, pick it up and replace the weapons that they were carrying with yours.

I hope you write a tutorial. Or are you afraid that the info will spread like wildfire and people will neglect creediting you?

I don't have time to write a full tutorial, but there was a topic a while back about doing it. When I find it, I'll post in it.

I'm for the advancment of the game. I don't care that much if people don't credit me. At least, I most likely won't notice.

Zerted -- Have you figured out how to change the flag to a holocron? I assume we just place a holocron and give it the name 'flag' in Zero.

(oops, I deleted the last post I made on here. I don't remember what it said...) Anyway:

I updated the first post. It now includes another download link (not rappidshare) and another link to view the soure code. Both the new links are the same. I expect modders to be able to understand a folder tree. (I also updated all the other links on things I've released since June, but I'm not going to bump all those topics.)

The demo map has not changed yet, so there is no reason to download the map (HMD) again. This post and the updated description are for the current source code version of Holocron.

The mode is almost done. It is in its final testing stages. A new Holocron Options Screen is being developed for a new shell, but that shouldn't cause any more changes to the mode's lua.

Last chances to request more features before this gets released to the public.
Find a glitch in it if you can.

Umm, doesn't anyone even play my game modes in MP?

I'm no longer sure if Holocron is stable in MP. Has anyone played online with another human in a Holocron game mode (not counting the demo map)?

I've played it over a lan during Convo Pack testing. I didn't notice any problems.

Hmm, maybe my example map is using an older version of the mode. I need to test the game mode online with someone so I can double check how the SWBF2 handles some things before putting them into Wave mode.

errm...I have a question...

If you got the flag, killed some bots (or human players) you can just find a little corner where nobody sees you and just wait until the 2 minuts or so are over...
Is it possibly to increase the effect of the radar? that if you stand still for....30 seconds or so (of course AFTER you got the holocron-flag-thing ^^)...you are marked on the map...so that your opponents can clearly see where u are...

For example in Deathstar...if the holocron is at the normal flag point...u could just take it, run to the...errm...prison, and hide in this small thing... (it´s "schacht" in german) between the long prison-gangway and the compactor..Then nobody would see you if you repair this fence behind you (of course you must have spawn as an engineer to do that ^^)
So my idea is it, that if you stand still for a time of 30 seconds after you captured the flag, that u are marked on the map.
Or you could turn off this shield, until you moved for a while (i don´t mean just press "w" and "a" for 1 time, i mean WALKING, the gangway up and down)

Sry if this had been asked before, I did´nt find anything about camping or so

What, if the Player (after he got the holo-cron-flag) ...just runs into HIS own base...so the bots (or players) which are on HIS side could protect him...well...I know, this would be very good to make a teamplay online (or a teamplay with bots ^^)...but it would be nearly impossible for the enemies to kill the carrier of the holocron, if every 15 seconds bots or human players spawn and protect the carrier again...
Maybe, if the Carrier gets a SHIELD, then you could give the ENEMIES some more powerful weapons...or....even better...this award from which your bullets gets more powerful....the red little tank...(blue=bacta, yellow=stamina, red=more powerful weapons...you know what i mean?)

ps: but if this works online...this would be TOTALLY Awesome! I think it would be better than just the normal flag mode, which gets boooring after a while

I know you can mess with map radar, but I've never done it. I have put a campaign marker on units before and I know that would work. The enemy AI are set to kill the carrier and the friendly AI are set to defend him. The AI carrier is sort-of just set to roam around.

The carrier does get a shield.

Messing with weapons in MP causes crashes for everyone in the server.
