Hello everyone,
I've been successfully running BF for several months now, and I recently developed a strange problem. The program starts without a problem, and all the logo screens go by. However, the first game screen to pop up consists of the animated background screen you typically see (and the music playing) with only a "back" button (which doesn't do anything) in the lower lefthand corner. At this point, the game won't do anything.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times. I've tried different video drivers. I've searched the internet and different forums for advice, and I don't think anyone else has had this problem. I'm running a Dell 8400 with a radeon x850 XT PE and cat 5.7 drivers.
Thanks for any suggestions.

RE: BF doesn
Hello everyone,
I finally found the solution to my problem on the official LucasArts message boards. I think this is related to my Saitek Eclipse keyboard. If anyone else has this problem, here is the solution.
Doc
"Click Start > Control Panel and open System (you may have to click Performance and Maintenance before you can see the System icon if you're running Control Panel in Category View). Then click Hardware at the top of the window and then click Device Manager."
"Click the plus sign next to Human Interface Devices in the list of devices and you should see one or two (or more) entries called USB Human Interface Device. You need to disable one of them by right-clicking it and choosing Disable from the drop-down list of options."
"Note: If you have only two such entries in the Device Manager then only one can be disabled. The other will have the disable option greyed out in the drop-down list when you right click it. If you have more than two such entries in the Device Manager then you will need to ensure that you disable the correct one. Double click each one in turn and look at what it says next to Location on the Properties page. The one that should be disabled will say USB Gaming Keyboard Pro next to Location. Once you have disabled it then try the game again."
