The Official Site
Has anyone else bought it? I got it yesterday, and it is awesome. The WiiMotion Plus really is amazing. I haven't found a game that I didn't like.
Here is my review:
Swordplay: The sword fighting is exactly as you would expect it to be. There really isn't any limits to how quickly or what angle you swing.(in my opinion) You can even change direction mid slice. The duel mode is fun, though it can go quickly depending on how you play. The speed slice mode is surprisingly fun, and you can continue slicing after you initial hit. Its fun to see an egg or clock diced up into little pieces
Wakeboarding: Not the most exciting of all, but it's still pretty thrilling to successfully pull of a trick. You can't wipe out (At least I don't think you can) so you don't have to stop and start over again. You just don't get points and speed up.
Frisbee: The controls are very accurate. So accurate that they are annoying in a good way
Frisbee dog is a good introduction to Wii Frisbee throwing, though I haven't played it enough to really have an opinion. Frisbee golf is very fun, and very realistic(I do as well as I do in real life.) The traditional basket is replaced by a pillar of light, but its better that way. It would be infuriating if it was a tiny basket.
Archery: Archery is pretty fun for those with steady hands. Its much better than the archery in Mario and Sonic. The Wii Remote is used to aim with the Wii Motion Plus attachment. All the Nunchuck is for is to pull back the bow's string.
Basketball: The three point contest is fun and not as easy as you would think. Shooting feels very natural. All you have to do is raise the Wii Remote and flick your wrist. The three on three pickup game is enjoyable
Table Tennis: Table tennis is much improved from the tennis of Wii Sports and from Mario and Sonic. (I haven't played any other tennis games, but I'm sure its better than those too
) The spin is very accurate. I would be frustrated in Mario and Sonic when my character wouldn't move across the table quick enough. Now I can get all but the most difficult hits.
Air Sports: One of the most fun categories. You can leisurely fly around the island and read about the different areas and sights or.....you can dogfight with a friend. Dogfighting is really fun. You fly around the island looking for more balloons while trying to shoot the other pilot's balloons. You can barrel roll, shoot flares, and cut the engine in addition to the normal controls, turning, and pitching up and down.
Cycling: Cycling is a surprisingly fun journey around the island and can get very competitive when going against a friend. It always seems to go fast, even though you have an energy meter.
These are just a few off the top of my head. There are plenty more in depth reviews around the internet. Overall, Wii Motion Plus does as advertised and gives amazingly accurate (and fun) results. The only problem is that there is not as many games for more than two players as I would like. However there are still enough that Wii Sports Resort is enjoyable in a group.
Rating: Fun and replayable, worth the money spent on it (in my opinion)
