Former Majin Revan Here

Hey guys, blast from the past. I've been wasting time jogging fond memories of mapping for SWBF II while I should be studying for an exam and a quiz. But I searched for any mention of my name through the posts and kept seeing one thing (and I also got lots of PMs that I had never replied to) being brought up: permission to modify my .odf files.

So the answer is yes. Feel free to modify any and all of my .odf files, as long as you give credit to where the template was from, and emphasize that it was modified, rather than the way I had left it.

Aside from that, I wish I could give you guys all my assets from all of my maps (both SWBF and SWBF II), but upon leaving mapping I sent all the files to EraOfDesann, who was to continue the Rise of the Empire series. He got busy, and ended up losing all the files. I happened to throw away all the disks with asset backups as well. If anyone has any of my assets that I might have distributed to them, feel free to make them publicly available.

And I'm surprised that you guys are still modding for SWBF II!

I'd love to come back to modding/mapping one day, but college life is rough (law school after this will kill me). Plus, few games seem like good candidates for mods these days to me (BFBC2 and Crysis have been appealing - Bandu had started a SW mod for Crysis a while back, and I joined the team, but he killed the mod before I could contribute). I joined the Sins of a Galactic Empire mod in its early stages, and did nothing due to being busy - so I was promptly removed from the team, LOL. Crysis 2 might be a good opportunity. Mostly I've just been gaming now - Sins of a Solar Empire, ME, ME2, Crysis, Far Cry 2, Empire: Total War, and so on. I don't even own SWBF II anymore, I must admit. And frankly, SW games have really sucked recently.

:P

Anyways, I thought I ought to make a quick blast from the past post. I think I'll check back on this thread for a few months to make sure I didn't leave any loose ends hanging that need to be addressed.

Hey there, buddy! I remember all the times I beta tested for you, dude. Speaking of which, awhile back, I finally figured out that ftp crap. Too bad I didn't use that to my advantage when I was employed at SWBF2 files. *sigh*

Old memories are old, but we must cherish them always. :)

Good to hear from you. You like...dropped off the face of the galaxy!

Hey man! Yeah, it's been a while. I really appreciate that you helped out so much back then. Good memories indeed!

Haha, the whole SWBF Files thing - I believe I got kicked after a while due to not posting enough files/reviewing them. And yeah, FTP is pretty simple once you get the hang of it.

And yeah, this is my first post on here in what...two years? I pulled a crazy disappearing act.

I must say, Rise of the Empire was a heck of a lot of fun - thanks for the permission to modify odfs. :)

Welcome back! I spent hours playing RotE, it was an incredible map pack. :)

Your RotE series were done great, and I hope you have time to return to the modding scene. :)

Thanks guys for the kind comments! I really miss the community and sitting down everyday and mapping. It was bliss. If I return to modding/mapping any time, it will obviously not be for SWBF II. That whole SWBF III fiasco killed a potential awesome modding opportunity - but that might have also not been released for PC.

Just to cover something that may arise in the future, I assume no one is allowed to continue it, now?

Haha, clever. In terms of mapping/modding, I trusted a few selection of people to continue a vision I had for a mod. So EraOfDesann and a few other folks would've been able to take over the mod. But the point is kaput, since no one has all the source files anymore, AFAIK.

All right, all right. I wouldn't anyway; I've got other things to work on, and anyway I wouldn't do as nice a job of it as you did. Still, if I didn't ask I'm certain someone would.

If I get more into modding (like more knowledgeable and stuff), I just might, provided I find someone who had the assets, but...AFAIK from what MR tells us....no one we know/he knows of has them. Oh well. I'll just stick with modding with the few select people I said I'd help mod...and...test...with.

I don't think I can make a map/mod even half as good as MR made, though.

Nothing extraordinary in my maps. Anyone can do that.

I remember playing your Kashyyyk Shores from BF1 which was one of my favourites. Your maps and Rends early stuff is what got me interested in modding.

Thanks guys - I appreciate the kind comments.

And Kashyyyk: Shores was one of my favorite maps to create, and was my pet "super-project" for SWBF. I always made my maps to be fun for myself, and I personally found myself spending hours on it. I think my Myrkr map was also like this for me, and initially Naboo: Encounter was too. I'm shocked I can remember these names, LOL. For SWBF II the Rise of the Empire one with the Imperial Clone Commando ambush is what I enjoyed playing...

I'm pretty sure Foolis had those assets, but he hasn't been around in awhile either.

Nice to see you again, if even briefly, Majin. Everybody comes back.

Except for Leviathan that is.

I'll just assume you made the Juggernaut model, but so far as I know nobody's made a working vehicle out of it yet. Dissappointing.
