Swarm squad: squad of "recon droids" (actually soldiers with modified rd geometry) spawn around player on use, follow the player around (clear AI goals for rd team every time the player dies).
Tactical droid's main secondary weapon for DS, btw. Yes it works.

Pretty sure that's been done before, and even if it hasn't then DS would be the proof that it works

. Just a teleport to the matrix of a dispensed object (which is then destoryed), yes?
Oh, yeah, I remembered where it's been done before:
Here.
In the modified Polis Massa a few units can spawn random amounts of Wampas, Aaylas, SBD's (I think) and one more unit. What's cool is that the amount of units spawned, and their skill (Aaylas being stronger than SBDs, obviously) are changed depending on when the player last fired the weapon. In other words, if you summon all these units and then try it again right after, you won't get as many or as good units, but you will if you give the weapon time to "recharge".
EDIT - Hmm, that JFF mappack is from 2007. So this technique has actually been around for a long time...wonder why people don't use it so much.

And I think it'd have to be modified to where it only works if a character is killed by a rakghoul.

Time stopp
if a hero is going to die and he is the last on the map from his team, he use the time stopp and nobody can move. the hero can place himself behind an adversary and than the time starts to run again and than he can kill him to get more life.

I don't think that'd be a very fair weapon, especially online.
(there's probably some way to figure out how to do it, maybe a force choke attack with unlimited range, with no "uuurhg" *strangle* animation, but an idle one)

That'd make it even more unfair. (one big advantage to only one person, in an online game

)

i think it is cool but only if you are the person how can stop the time.
But if the time is stopped the person couldn't use his wepon

But what'd be the point of that? Also, in multiplayer, It'd probably just be very annoying.
It is interesting for a single player campaign though.

Something from the game Knights of the Old Republic. Basically, if you get bitten by a Rakghoul, you become one.

It's easy to change a specific unit's team upon being hit by a certain weapon (I've made a Force Corrupt power (partly) that way), but I don't think you can change a unit's mesh without needing to respawn that unit. And that has problems of its own, not least of which that, if one Republic Trooper is bitten,
all of them will turn into Rakghouls, but only one will be evil....

I wasn't suggesting this or asking how to do it, if that's what I cam across as saying; I was explaining to destructo_bot what the Rakghoul plague is.
And if you did want to put some type of Rakghoul plague in a map, I think the earlier method would work better, where a seperate Rakghoul character is teleported to or spawned at the death location of the unit. That way, you don't have to worry about overwriting all the player models, or forcing the player onto a third team, thereby making it impossible for that player to ever "win" (unless they die and get forced back onto their original team).

Hmm, I was replying to destructo_bot as well, though in that case perhaps I should not have quoted you.
Yes, the earlier method seems much better. The only thing about that is that it eliminates the possibility of the human ever playing as a Rakghoul....but it's still a lot better. Wasn't this discussed already, if not in this thread then in others? I could swear I saw this all before....

The only problem with that is that everyone would "turn" into a rakghoul on death. The rakghouls would need to have two command posts to spawn from. One for the existing rakghouls, and a remote post for new ones.

No....they wouldn't. And the locals would only need one invisible CP to spawn from.

None of those are unconventional, and are all very easy to do.
